| In terms of system construction, the coverage of basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents in China has been very extensive, but some important problems have not been solved, such as the heavy burden of self-payment and the continuous growth of medical expenses, and the citizens still have great risks in the face of diseases. In this context, the state seized the problem of insufficient serious illness insurance in the medical security system, decided to carry out the pilot work of serious illness insurance, and established a relatively complete serious illness insurance system by the end of 2017.From the perspective of life cycle,middle-aged and elderly people are in the middle and late stages of life cycle, and their health status should be more valued and guaranteed.Serious illness insurance is crucial to ensure their health quality. At the same time, the size of social adaptability can show the level of individual survival and development ability.People with high survival and development ability will be able to cope better in the face of difficulties and obstacles, and it is healthy physical condition that supports individual social adaptability. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the impact of serious illness insurance on the social adaptability and health of middle-aged and elderly people to improve the level of medical security, enhance the sense of happiness and gain of middle-aged and elderly people, and promote the healthy development of population aging.Based on Grossman’s health demand theory, health equity theory and social support theory, this paper studies and analyzes the impact of China’s major disease insurance on the social adaptability and health of the middle-aged and elderly, and puts forward three research hypotheses.According to the research hypothesis, the CHARLS data of 2013,2015 and 2018 are selected to construct the variables of social adaptability from three aspects of social interaction, learning and adaptation ability, and social support ability, which together with the health of the middle-aged and elderly constitute the explained variables.Because the explained variable is a bivariate form, the bivariate probit model is used for regression in the empirical analysis to analyze and study whether serious illness insurance can promote the social adaptability and health of middle-aged and elderly people and the correlation between them.In addition, according to the age difference of different populations and the different regions, this paper conducts a heterogeneity analysis from the two aspects of age and region to study whether there are differences in the role of major disease insurance on the social adaptability and health of the middle-aged and elderly in different populations. The study found that participating in serious illness insurance can significantly promote the social interaction, learning and adaptation ability, social support ability and health level of middle-aged and elderly people; From the perspective of age,the impact of serious illness insurance on the social adaptability and health of middle-aged people is significant, but the impact on the social adaptability and health of the elderly is not significant; From the perspective of urban and rural areas, the impact of serious illness insurance on the social adaptability of rural middle-aged and elderly people is significant, while the impact on the social adaptability of urban middle-aged and elderly people is not significant, but it plays a role in promoting the health level of urban and rural middle-aged and elderly people.Based on the above conclusions, this paper suggests that: first, improve the level of overall planning and narrow the gap in medical security;Second, strengthen disease prevention and pay attention to multi-dimensional health;Third, mobilize the enthusiasm of social participation and attach importance to the social adaptability of the middle-aged and elderly;Fourth, popularize lifelong education and actively participate in health education;Fifth, improve the level of social support and develop the elderly service industry;Sixth, strengthen publicity and improve awareness of the serious illness insurance system. |
