Reinterpretation Of Symbolic Representation

Symbolic representation is a type of representation that presents and represents the principal by expressing specific values,norms,and beliefs.For a long time,symbolic representation has been at the edge of the study of the theory of representation as a supplement to other types of representation,while a small number of existing studies only pay attention to the value of the existence of symbolic representation,which is equivalent to "the existence that satisfies people".As a result,symbolic representation is often misunderstood as "window-dressing representation" without substantive activity or "psychological manipulators" linked to irrational factors.Since the 21 st century,the rise of unelected representatives has brought about an impact on the traditional representation theory with election as the core.However,with the help of constructivism,symbolic representation is showing increasingly powerful explanatory power.In fact,as the bearer of meaning,symbolic representatives do not carry out any substantive activities.The core of their activities lies in the construction and expression of meaning.This means that its structure must involve a meaning "maker".By means of declaration,the maker proposes an agency related to the principal.The agency is the concrete presentation of meaning and is established with the support of the principal.The participation of the manufacturer makes the symbolic representation no longer limited to the principal-agent dual structure.At the same time,in order to obtain sustainable symbolic power,the agent must have a high degree of long-term interaction with the principal,and finally form a multi-dimensional interaction structure beyond the duality.On the one hand,symbolic representation plays the static function of "deputation" and carries on figurative production to the subject.On the other hand,it shows the dynamic function of awakening social memory,constructing identity and strengthening political control.Therefore,on the basis of explaining the connotation of symbolic representation,this paper tries to respond to the long-term "stereotype" through normative analysis of its structure and function.Symbolic representation is not only an existentialist "standing for",its dynamic function can be seen in a wide range of political practices,and has explanatory power to many political phenomena.To clarify many elements of symbolic representation and present the contemporary value of symbolic representation is also the significance of this paper.
