With the development of economy and society, more and more attention has been paid to social responsibility, which can not be ignored in the process of enterprise development. After the 19 th People’s Congress was held, new requirements for corporate social responsibility were put forward.Upper Echelons Theory shows that CEOS are not "rational economic men",and the cognitive ability and values of ceos in reality are different, which are affected by their personal characteristics such as age, education background, gender and even personality.Based on the Upper Echelons Theory, this study studies the relationship between CPC CEOs and corporate social responsibility, and explores the influence of government logic and market logic on the relationship between CPC CEOs and corporate social responsibility from the perspective of institutional logic theory. This paper takes CPC CEOs as the research object and selects A-share Chinese listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets from 2010 to 2017 as samples.Through empirical research,we draw the following conclusions: First, there is A significant positive correlation between CPC CEOs and CSR,and CPC CEOs have more prominent commitment to social responsibility;Second, from the perspective of government logic, the ownership nature of Chinese owned enterprises strengthens the influence of CPC CEOS on CSR commitment, while private enterprises weaken the relationship between them.Third, from the perspective of market logic, market competition will inhibit CPC CEOs’ performance of corporate social responsibility, and the degree of marketization will significantly promote CPC CEOs’ commitment to corporate social responsibility. This study enriched the academic research results on the impact of CEO heterogeneity on corporate social responsibility, and also provided practical guidance for enterprises to select managers and set up leadership teams in the future.
