Communism will eventually be realized,but how to achieve the ultimate victory of the revolution is the question Engels has been thinking and exploring.Engels put forward two revolutionary paths in his life.In his youth,Engels advocated “the uniqueness of violence”,emphasizing the victory of revolution in the form of violence;Engels in his later years advocated a peaceful revolutionary way.It is undeniable that Engels had an obvious attitude change in the choice of the revolutionary road in his later years.This change is the result of the development of the times and the new development of the revolution,and it is the concrete manifestation of Engels’ adherence to historical materialism.However,the change of Engels’ attitude before and after his death was misunderstood for a time,and even included in the “revision” list.Although Engels had explained it many times before his death,he failed to completely stop the misunderstood voice.Especially after Engels’ death,the voice of “Engels’ revisionism”became more and more rampant,and even today,this voice has not completely disappeared.Therefore,the study of Engels’ peaceful road in his later years will help to correct his name and get rid of the label of revision;At the same time,Engels’ theory of the peaceful road in his later years,as an important part of the Marxist system,plays an important theoretical guiding role in China’s peaceful development in the new era and in maintaining peace in the world today.This paper takes Engels’ theory of the peaceful road in his later years as the research object.On the basis of in-depth exploration of the evolution of Engels’ theory of the peaceful road in his later years,this paper specifically analyzes the conditions of the time when Engels’ theory of the peaceful road came into being,and strives to fully explore the core essence of Engels’ theory of the peaceful road in his later years from four aspects: the purpose,premise,motivation and method of the peaceful road.Finally,this paper tries to discuss the continuation and development of Engels’ theory of the peaceful road in his later years from the perspective of the cultural critical theory of early Western Marxism and the theory of peaceful development of Communist Party of China.
