Research On Zhou Peiyuan’s Scientist Spirit And Its Time Value

As the primary great spirit absorbed into the spirit pedigree of the CPC,the spirit of scientists with the main content of "patriotism,innovation,pragmatism,dedication,coordination and cultivation",is the spiritual temperament accumulated by Chinese scientific and technical personnel in the long-term scientific practice.As an outstanding representative of the older generation of scientists,Zhou Peiyuan forged his scientific spirit by serving the motherland and devoting himself to science and education,reflecting the lofty spirit of the older generation of scientific and technological workers in China,with rich spiritual connotations and profound values of education.Carrying forward and inheriting Zhou Peiyuan’s scientific spirit is of great significance for creating an atmosphere of valuing talents,advocating innovation and devoting to science in the whole society,encouraging the majority of scientific and technological workers to devote themselves to scientific research and forge ahead,climbing great hills of science and participate in the construction of a world-class power in science and technology.This paper takes Zhou Peiyuan’s scientific spirit as the research object,and on the basis of clarifying the basic content of his scientific spirit,further analyzes the development process and influencing factors of his scientific spirit,and finally discuss es its era value and explores the feasible path to carry forward his scientific spirit.It is divided into the following five parts: The first part is the introduction,which mainly includes the aim and significance of the study,the domestic and overseas researches,the methodological considerations,as well as the innovation points and limitations of the study.The second part elaborates the kernel connotation of the spirit of scientists,which mainly explains the core connotation of the spirit of scientists and the necessity of carrying forward the spirit of scientists,and points out the important role of the spirit of scientists in the new era.The third part discusses the basic content and characteristics of Zhou Peiyuan’s scientist spirit,which is generally condensed into four aspects: the patriotic integrity of not being greedy for profit and fighting for the country,the scientific character of seeking and exploring truth unremittingly,the excellent demeanour of teaching people tirelessly and cultivating talents,and the humanitarian care of caring for peace and the world.On this basis,the distinctive characteristics of Zhou Peiyuan’s scientist spirit are extracted.The fourth part systematically tracks Zhou Peiyuan’s growth and work experience,explores the formation process of his scientific spirit from the three historical periods including the early Republic of China,the Anti-Japanese War and the post-liberation period,and further analyzes the influencing factors.The fifth part researches the era value of Zhou Peiyuan’s scientific spirit on the basis of the previous study;and explores the path to carry forward Zhou Peiyuan’s scientific spirit in practice.We should make efforts to increase spiritual and physical resources,give advance publicity and enrich the content of education,so that Zhou Peiyuan’s scientific spirit can be passed down from generation to generation.
