In the past 30 years,with the deepening of China’s reform and opening up,the economy and culture have made great achievements,and successfully attracted a batch of Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan students to come to the mainland to study.The educational background,growth environment and living habits of Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan students before they go to university are different from those of mainland students.The incompatibility in universities is common and prominent,which affects their academic adaptation,sociocultural adaptation and psychological adaptation.Paying attention to Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan students and exploring how to help them better adapt to university,which has become one of the urgent problems at colleges.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 465 students in H university and X university.The questionnaire tools were mainly divided into academic adaptation scale,sociocultural adaptation scale,psychological adaptation scale and learning outcomes scale.The reliability and validity were good.Through quantitative analysis,the main research questions are:(1)The overall situation of students’ adaptability.(2)There is a difference in the academic adaptation,sociocultural adaptation,and psychological adaptation of students from the four districts of Cross Straits.(3)Whether students’academic adaptation,sociocultural adaptation,and psychological adjustment are different in school,gender,and grade.(4)What is the relationship between students’academic adaptation,sociocultural adaptation,psychological adjustment and learning outcomes.(5)how students’ academic adaptation,sociocultural adaptation,and psychological adaptation affect learning outcomes.This effect has regional differences in students across the four districts of Cross Straits.This study mainly draws the following conclusions:first of all,on the whole,the adaptability of college students is general.Among the three dimensions,sociocultral is the best,followed by academic adaptation,while there are more problems in psychological adaptation.Second,there are differences in the academic adaptation,sociocultural adaptation and psychological adaptation of students from the four districts of Cross Straits.In terms of academic adaptation,mainland students’ learning ability is better adapted,but the attitudes of Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan students are better than those of mainland students,and the best mode of teaching is Macao students.In terms of sociocultural adaptation,mainland students are better at adapting to socioculture than Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan students,and mainland students’ social interaction and living environment are better than Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan students,but there is no difference between Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan students.In terms of psychological adaptation,Taiwanese students have the best psychological adaptation,and Taiwanese students are better at self-adjustment and self-acceptance.Third,the affect of overall academic adaptation,sociocultural adaptation,and psychological adaptation on learning outcomes.(1)There is a significant positive correlation between academic adaptation,sociocultural adaptation,and psychological adaptation.(2)The better the sociocultural adaptation and psychological adaptation of the whole sample,the better the development of core competence and the higher the satisfaction.Similarly,the better the learning adaptation of the whole sample,the better the core ability development.Fourth,the affect of academic adaptation,sociocultural adaptation,and psychological adaptation on the learning outcomes of students from the four districts of Cross Straits.In terms of academic adaptation,the better the academic adaptation of Hong Kong students and Taiwanese students,the better their core competence development.The better the academic adaptability of mainland students and Macao students,the better their core competence development and the higher the satisfaction,but the academic achievement is inversely proportional.In terms of sociocultural adaptation,the better the sociocultural adaptation of mainland students and Macao students,the better their core competence development and the higher the satisfaction.The better the sociocultural adaptation of Taiwanese students,the better their core competence development,the higher the satisfaction,and the higher the academic result.The better the sociocultural adaptation of Hong Kong students,the higher their core competence and the higher their satisfaction,but their academic result will be reduced.In terms of psychological adaptation,the better the psychological adaptation of mainland students,the better their core competence development.The better the psychological adaptation of Hong Kong students,the higher their satisfaction.The better the psychological adaptation of Taiwanese students,the better their core competence development and the higher the satisfaction.Based on the above conclusions,this study puts forward relevant countermeasures and Suggestions from the perspectives of schools,students and teachers.From the school level:(1)improve the entrance requirements of students from Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan,evaluate students from different backgrounds,and teach students in accordance with their aptitude;(2)reduce the indiscriminate management of mainland students and students from Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan,and break the inherent pattern of making friends;(3)offer different exchange activities to promote mutual understanding and communication between students from the mainland and students from Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan;(4)do a good job in psychological counseling for college students,establish mental health files,and provide various mental health education.Starting from the level of students:(1)clear learning purpose,make learning plans,correct learning attitude;(2)actively understand and adapt to mainland life,and actively participate in various cultural activities;(3)appropriate vent,know self-encouragement,self-regulation.From the perspective of teachers:(1)pay attention to cultivate students’ learning interest and stimulate their learning motivation;(2)strengthen the communication and exchange between teachers and students,and give warm care and help;(3)improve teaching methods to improve teaching quality;(4)improve the academic tutorial system tc effectively and pertinently guide students.
