| The forum is the primary place where online learners engage in collaborative knowledge construction and sentiment interaction. The discussion text data generated in the forum implies learners’ topic, sentiment, and cognitive behavior. They are the key factors affecting learning outcomes.Based on joint modeling of the three facts,we can analyze how they affect each other and how they affect learning outcomes. It can help gain insight into group learning processing and help teachers and learners improve teaching and learning quality. The main research work and innovations of the thesis are as follows.(1)The BERT-CNN(Bidirectional Encoder Representations from TransformersConvolutional Neural Networks)which is a cognitive behavior and sentiment recognition model based on pre-trained language models are proposed. The model solves multiple meanings of words, category imbalance,cross-domain knowledge, and insufficient training data for cognitive behavior and sentiment recognition tasks.(2)The JCSTM(Joint Cognitive-Sentiment-Topic Model)is proposed. It can model the complex relationship between cognitive behavior, sentiment, and topic. It can discover discussion topics and their cognitive behavior and sentiment patterns. It has significant improvements in topic coherence compared to the baseline model.(3)The relationship between topic, sentiment, and cognitive behavior was explored. We found that the topic of the cognitive goal, and the difficulty of the cognitive goal would significantly affect the learners’ sentiment and cognitive behavior. And then, sentiment significantly influences cognitive behaviors.Based on this finding, this study proposes a cognitive behavior trigger theory model for explaining and optimizing the design of online forum discussion topics.(4)The influence of topic, sentiment, and cognitive behavior on learning outcome was investigated.By modifying the ICAP(Interactive Cognitive Active Passive)coding framework, this study verified that the effects of cognitive behaviors on learning outcome were,in descending order,Interactive,Constructive, and Active. The effects on learning effectiveness were,in order, topic, cognition, and sentiment. |
