As a new round of curriculum reform,more and more experts and scholars focus on mathematics key competencies.In order to develop the students’ mathematics key competencies,many experts and scholars explore the teaching which is based on the mathematics key competencies.They think unit teaching is an effective way to improve the effect of classroom teaching.It not only helps students to get a deeper understanding of mathematical knowledge,but also promotes students’ understanding level of the core competence.Meanwhile,unit teaching can promote the teachers’ professional development.Understanding by Design(hereinafter referred to UbD theory)advocates that teachers should carry out reverse classroom teaching in the units of units or themes in practice.It can effectively solve some problems in traditional classroom teaching and provide a typical step for unit teaching.It also accords to the concept of the new curriculum reform.Therefore this article selects “trigonometric function” unit as the research object in order to promote students’ understanding level of mathematics key competencies.It proposes unit teaching operation steps in line with student development and carries out the research of “trigonometric function” unit teaching based on the UbD theory.The main contents are as follows:First of all,analyze relevant literature on unit teaching and UbD theory,summarize unit teaching steps,and understand the reverse instructional design template by the UbD theory advocated.Second,based on relevant theoretical research establishment teacher interview outline(Appendix 1),explore the feasibility of applying UbD theory to trigonometric function unit,reference first-line teacher’s teaching experience to build preliminary “trigonometric function”unit teaching steps(figure3-1),and then distribute expert opinion consultation draft(Appendix 2).According to the expert’s feedback,modify preliminary unit teaching steps,build structure clear and point to the clear trigonometric function unit teaching steps(figure3-2).Third,according to the build steps,from two aspects of large units and small units perspective,“determine unit theme-compiled unit goals-clear unit evaluation-design the teaching task-feeling teaching holistic” five links,carry out the research of “trigonometric function” unit teaching based on the UbD theory.At last,select classes in the practice school with similar grades to carry out teaching experiments.Through the comparative analysis of the scores of students in the experimental class and the control class,it is found that the unit teaching based on the UbD theory has a positive impact on the learning effect of students and it can promote the improvement of students’ understanding level of key competencies.
