| With the development of the times and social progress,people’s view of love and marriage is constantly changing.College students,as high intellectuals of the society,lead the trend of the mainstream values of love and marriage to a certain extent.College students’ view of love and marriage is not only the construction of college students’ outlook on life and values according to their personal background and self-evaluation and identity,but also the result of the influence of the whole social environment and cultural changes.The specific expression pattern of college students’ view of love and marriage is not only related to the personal growth and happiness of family life,but also related to the stability and development of society.Therefore,it is of great significance to study college students’ view of love and marriage and discuss the influencing factors of college students’ view of love and marriage.The existing research on the influencing factors of college students’ view of love and marriage is mostly single-factor analysis,and the measurement of the view of love and marriage is also focused on a certain aspect,rarely systematic and overall study of college students’ view of love and marriage and its influencing factors.The Social Ecosystem Theory is the basic theory to explore the interaction between human behavior and social environment.According to the theory,personal problems are problems in the process of life,and the understanding and judgment of personal problems must be carried out in their living environment.College students are in a period of transformation from school people to social people,and their outlook on life and values are easily affected by external factors,so to explore the influencing factors of college students’ view on love and marriage should be considered from many aspects.This study used the Panel Study of Chinese University Students(PSCUS)data in 2020,through Contingency table analysis,logit regression analysis and OLS regression analysis,based on the Social Ecosystem Theory perspective,discussed the influence of micro-system(individual),meso-system(family,school)and macro system(hukou,region)on college students’ view of love and marriage.Specifically,the micro-system factors include gender,political outlook and education level;meso-system factors include family socio-economic status,family cultural capital and school level;macro-system factors include hukou and region.The view of love and marriage is examined from three aspects,namely,spouse selection,fertility and family role,in which spouse selection includes three dimensions,namely upward marriage tendency,downward marriage tendency and common value tendency.This study discusses the relationship between each system and college students’view of love and marriage,and whether there are gender differences in the influence of each system on college students’ view of love and marriage.This study has concluded the following four findings.First,under the micro system,gender,political outlook and education level have a significant impact on college students’outlook on love and marriage:compared with female students,male students’ view of spouse selection is more modernized.however,it shows the tradition in the view of fertility and family role,and the college students of Party members have a stronger tendency of common values and higher desire to have children.The higher the level of education,the more modern the concept of spouse selection and family role of college students,and the relationship between education level and fertility view shows an inverted "U" curve distribution.Undergraduates have low fertility desire,while postgraduates have high fertility desire.Second,under the meso system,the family environment and school environment have a significant impact on college students’ view of love and marriage:the higher the socio-economic status of the family,the more modern the concept of family role,and the weaker the tendency of common values;the more cultural capital of the family,the higher the level of the school,the more modern the concept of spouse selection,fertility and family role of college students.Third,under the macro system,hukou and region have a significant impact on college students’ concept of love and marriage:compared with agricultural hukou,non-agricultural hukou college students are more modern in spouse selection,fertility and family role;the fertility concept of college students in the south is more modern.Fourth,there are gender differences in the influence of social ecosystem on college students’ view of love and marriage.In the view of spouse selection and family role,the influence of various factors on male students is more significant than that of female students,while in the concept of fertility,the impact on female students is more significant than that of male students.This study proves that college students’ view of love and marriage is shaped by many factors,and there are gender differences in the influence of various factors on the view of marriage and love,which has a certain enlightening significance for Chinese college students’ love and marriage education and related policy practice. |
