| In recent years, how to develop students’ core literacy in depth has become an important topic for scholars’ educational research and teachers’ teaching practice. This paper analyzes the overall characteristics and thinking ability structure of the test papers based on the core literacy assessment framework and the theory of the test question thinking level, and assigns core literacy values and test question thinking level.Through the in-depth analysis of the distribution of core literacy and the test question thinking level within and among the test questions,we can provide a comprehensive and profound analysis of the design rules and characteristics of the mathematics test questions in China’s college entrance examination, and then provide some appropriate opinions and suggestions for the teaching of high school mathematics and the design of mathematics test questions.Specifically, this paper selects the national paper of mathematics of the 2021 college entrance examination as the object of study, and mainly addresses the following three questions:(1)In terms of the surface structure of the test questions, the general characteristics of the question structure of the test questions? What is the focus of the test questions in terms of content distribution?(2)In terms of core mathematical literacy, what is the overall distribution of test questions? What are the specific manifestations in the distribution of knowledge patterns and contents?(3)In terms of the test question thinking level, what is the extent of the test questions? What are the characteristics in terms of content distribution? This paper firstly uses the literature analysis method to obtain the theoretical framework of the pre-thesis study, secondly uses the case study method to study the main characteristics of the questions in the test papers, and finally uses the educational statistics and content analysis methods to analyze and elaborate on the data obtained from the study.Examining each test question in terms of surface structure, core mathematical literacy, and test question thinking level, the findings indicate that.(1)In terms of surface structure analysis, the analysis of the types and order of questions presented in the tests revealed that the six papers presented questions in an objective-subjective structure, but there were differences in the way the questions were arranged in specific papers. The new college entrance exam paper sets multiple-choice questions,fill-in-the-blank questions are prepared to set multiple blanks, score in blanks, and increase open-ended questions and poorly structured questions. In terms of content distribution,a lot of emphases was placed on algebra and analytic geometry, with a combined weight of over 60%,and less on the other three areas. The number and variety of questions in the algebra domain are the greatest;the analytic geometry domain is relatively small, and the remaining domains are similar in terms of the number of questions and the number of points set.(2)In terms of core mathematical literacy,a study of the core literacy within the papers revealed that the distribution of literacy emphasized two literacies, namely, mathematical operations and logical reasoning, with the sum of the two reaching over50%;the proportion of intuitive imagination and mathematical modeling was 15%;data analysis and mathematical abstraction were less examined;the level of literacy was mainly at the level of knowledge comprehension and knowledge transfer;the structure of the questions in terms of multiple-choice questions and solutions was similar. In terms of question structure,multiple-choice and solution questions test all six core literacies, while fill-in-the-blank questions test less abstraction and data analysis;in terms of content distribution,three-dimensional geometry and analytical geometry effectively test intuitive imagination literacy, algebra and trigonometry mainly test mathematical operations and logical reasoning literacy, and probability statistics mainly test data analysis literacy. In the comparative analysis of core literacy among the test questions, from the perspective of the knowledge level of core literacy,it is found that the Arts paper is at the level of knowledge understanding, the Science paper is at the level of knowledge transfer, and the New Advanced Placement paper is at a higher level of knowledge innovation. From the perspective of content distribution,it is found that the National A paper highlights the test of intuitive imagination literacy in the field of three-dimensional geometry and analytic geometry, the New College Entrance Examination I paper mainly tests the literacy of mathematical operations and logical reasoning in the field of algebra and trigonometry, and the National A(Science)and New College Entrance Examination II papers test a higher proportion of data analysis literacy in the field of probability statistics.Using multivariate statistical analysis,it was concluded that the examination and average levels of core literacy in mathematics in the National B(Science)and New College Entrance Examination II papers differed greatly, and the rest of the papers were similar in the level of core literacy in mathematics, the 18 levels of literacy were not completely separated, with overlap in the levels of intuitive imagination and mathematical modeling.(3)In terms of the test question thinking level, the six papers focused on the thinking levels of multi-point and correlation structures.Analysis of the test questions from the perspective of content distribution revealed that the algebra and analytic geometry tests involved four thinking levels, and the trigonometry, cubic geometry and probability statistics domains set fewer questions and had lower scores,so these three domains tested a lower degree of thinking ability. This paper examines the National Paper on Mathematics of the 2021 College Entrance Examination, and the test questions as a whole highlight mathematical operations and logical reasoning literacy, while other literacies are less tested. In terms of the test question thinking level, there is less examination of the single-point structure and abstract expansion.Based on the above conclusions,in order to improve the examination of students’ comprehensive ability in the college entrance examination, the process of questions design should focus on the following three points:(1)broaden the perspective of the test question proposition;(2)optimize the weighting of mathematical core literacy tests;(3)coordinate the level of mathematical core literacy levels;(4)pay attention to students’ existing test question thinking level. At the same time, for the comprehensive and integrated nature of the test questions, the following three points should be achieved in teaching:(1)Reasonably design typical examples and create problem scenarios;(2)pay attention to the teaching materials and core literacy requirements;(3)increase the teaching of problem-solving variations to improve students’ ability;(4)focus on the construction of students’ test question thinking levels. |
