Mathematical modeling literacy is one of the six core qualities of high school mathematics,which plays an important role in the goal of high school mathematics curriculum."Mathematical abstraction of real problems,expressing problems in mathematical language and building models to solve problems with mathematical methods" is the core element of mathematical modeling literacy.The cultivation of mathematical modeling literacy is an effective way to "improve practical ability,enhance innovation consciousness and scientific spirit".STEAM education concept is highly concerned by the educational circles because it effectively integrates the practice of "Science,Technology,Engineering,Art and Mathematics" in education and teaching,which not only makes up for the deficiency of traditional teaching in knowledge exploration,but also helps to improve the problems existing in traditional classroom.This paper uses STEAM education concept for reference to explore the cultivation of mathematical modeling literacy in senior high school,and tests the effectiveness of the integration of the two through specific teaching cases.Based on the analysis of relevant literature,this paper defines and summarizes the core concepts and research status,and analyzes the theoretical basis of this study.On this basis,we constructed the principle and teaching mode of mathematical modeling literacy training based on STEAM education concept.Through the analysis and exploration of mathematical modeling teaching cases,we preliminarily formulated the evaluation system of mathematical modeling teaching.At the same time,after teaching,we conducted a questionnaire survey on the experimental class and interviewed the teachers participating in the teaching.We evaluated,analyzed and studied the teaching effect of mathematical modeling teaching activities under the STEAM education concept.The research shows that the classroom teaching of mathematical modeling integrated into the STEAM education concept can enable students to gain a deeper understanding and experience of multidisciplinary knowledge and contribute to the improvement of mathematical modeling literacy.At the same time,they can also improve the ability of applying multidisciplinary knowledge,reasonable planning ability,innovation ability and scientific literacy,which is conducive to the improvement and all-round development of mathematical core literacy.
