Students’ learning satisfaction is an important basis for measuring the quality of higher education.The Ministry of Education has clearly proposed that students’ learning satisfaction should be an important part of the education quality report compiled by colleges and universities.Pedagogy has a strong openness,which means that the postgraduates majored in education with interdisciplinary learning backgrounds takes a high proportion in the total number.Besides,pedagogy is a complex subject that related with other disciplines.However,both the educational theories,and creative ideas are not adequate,which in turn affects students’ learning satisfaction and challenges the quality of education.The innovative development of pedagogy under the background of "new liberal arts" needs to aim at the cultivation of interdisciplinary liberal arts talents,break down disciplinary barriers,and improve the academic quality of pedagogy.Therefore,postgraduates in education with interdisciplinary background can meet the requirement exactly.Paying attention to the learning satisfaction of this group is of great significance to improve the quality of education and cultivate compound talents.Based on the theory of customer satisfaction and student participation,this research selects masters of education from four universities in Shaanxi Province.A comparative study was conducted between the postgraduate students and those who have interdisciplinary learning backgrounds,to objectively study the current situation and influencing factors of learning satisfaction of postgraduates in education with interdisciplinary backgrounds,and to explore the reasons at a qualitative level combined with interviews.The research conclusions are: First,the overall learning satisfaction of postgraduates with interdisciplinary learning background in education is lower than that of postgraduates with non-interdisciplinary background in education;Secondly,There are significant differences in the dimensions of learning motivation,self-efficacy,learning engagement,curriculum elements,teaching elements,scientific research,mentor guidance,and support and security between the postgraduate students and those who have interdisciplinary learning backgrounds,and the average value of each dimension of postgraduates with interdisciplinary learning background is significantly lower than that of postgraduates without interdisciplinary learning background;Thirdly,The average value of the mentoring dimension of male students is significantly lower than that of female students.The students’ self-efficacy varies according to their grades: postgraduate students of the third grade ranks the highest,then the fist grade,finally,the second grade.Besides,there are differences in the tutor’s guidance,support and guarantee,and overall learning satisfaction are various due to the students’ place of origin,which shows the average value of urban students is higher than that of rural students.The average value of the scientific research dimension of the Double First-Class Colleges or Universities is lower than that of the ordinary ones.And the average value of support,guarantee and overall learning satisfaction of the Double First-Class Colleges or Universities is higher than that of ordinary ones.Finally,course elements,scientific research,and support have a significant positive impact on the overall learning satisfaction of the postgraduates majored in education with interdisciplinary learning backgrounds.However,the learning motivation,self-efficacy,learning engagement,teaching elements,and mentor guidance have little effect on the overall learning satisfaction of the postgraduates majored in education with interdisciplinary learning backgrounds.Research suggestions: First,the course content should be basic,interesting and practical;to build an interdisciplinary curriculum system which focused more on students with more various class activities.Second,the students should participate in interdisciplinary scientific research projects in the field of education;The universities should organize multidisciplinary academic activities and attract more multidisciplinary teachers to guide the students;Third,both the school and the teachers should enrich the learning resources by providing more professional books,foreign documents and e-books,and pay more attention to students’ mental health and employment rate.And improve the scholarship system and increase the amount of grants;Fourth,enhance students’ intrinsic motivation to learn,improve their self-efficacy and learning engagement.
