In recent years,the elementary education curriculum reform has made continuous progress.To carry out the new course reform idea and curriculum development and implementation,the educational community needs to strengthen the research on the promotion of principal curriculum leadership.In this paper,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 121 middle school principals in H City,and the middle school principal,teachers,and education administration department leaders were interviewed.The results show that: middle school principals have weak curriculum awareness;Poor curriculum planning ability;Weak curriculum management ability;insufficient curriculum assessment ability;lack of curriculum leadership effectiveness.Based on the analysis of the causes,the author sums up some strategies for improving the curriculum leadership of secondary school principals: Firstly,the education administration department should develop the principal’s curriculum leadership.strengthen the supervision and management of the curriculum leadership,and perfect the principal course leadership evaluation mechanism;Secondly,the school organizes regional principal curriculum leadership alliance,constructs informatization principal curriculum leadership platform,and creates a principal curriculum leadership community.Thirdly,middle school principals should improve curriculum leadership awareness,enhance curriculum leadership professional quality,and improve curriculum leadership practices.
