At present,the education ecology is accompanied by the development of a highly data-driven and highly intelligent human society,and its informatization process is advancing rapidly.With the introduction of the concept of core literacy in the curriculum standards,thematic unit teaching is an effective form of teaching organization to implement core literacy education,and deep learning is both a concept and a pathway to guide the practice of education and teaching towards the cultivation of individual core literacy and the implementation of the fundamental task of establishing moral education.How to implement deep learning into the specific process of subject teaching to achieve higher level teaching objectives? How to use the development of educational technology to promote students’ deep learning? How can deep learning units integrated with educational technology be taught?Based on the concept of deep learning,Chapter 1 of this paper identifies the usefulness and feasibility of integrating virtual reality technology into the teaching of junior high school geography thematic units after a survey analysis and teacher interviews on the current situation of junior high school geography learning and the acceptance of virtual reality technology.Chapter 2 constructs a virtual reality-based thematic unit teaching model and clarifies the teaching design process of a deep learning thematic unit integrating educational technology.In the third chapter,based on the analysis of the characteristics of virtual reality technology,the value of applying virtual reality technology to the teaching of geography thematic units is explored,and virtual reality situations are created with the help of the Unity3 D platform to prepare for teaching practice.In Chapter 4,the teaching design is based on the theme of "Knowing my hometown",and the teaching objectives are regional cognition,integrated thinking,human-territory coordination,geography practice,geography aesthetics and sentiment.The teaching design of the geography theme unit was carried out.The results show that Unity3D-based virtual reality technology has obvious advantages in the teaching of junior high school geography thematic units,and the application of virtual reality technology is most effective in terms of fun,experience and pleasure.In terms of integrated thinking,a coordinated view of people and places,and the practical power of geography,the thematic unit teaching design is easier to understand and apply in terms of teaching content than traditional teaching,and it also plays a great role in promoting innovation in virtual reality-based teaching methods.So far education informatization has taken a step forward in promoting high quality development of education,education intelligence has promoted the gradual upgrading of educational tools,and educational outcomes have been optimized and developed for the better.
