A Study On The Development Process Of Stress Resistance Of Poor Single Mother In Domestic Work

With the increasing divorce rate,the group of divorced single mothers is growing.Among them,the plight of those single mothers in poverty and how to achieve work independence have become the focus of attention.For poor single women,domestic work has become the main employment field because of its low entry threshold and the expansion of social demand for domestic service.Based on the female workers in a domestic company in H city,this paper uses qualitative research methods to conduct in-depth interviews with 15 poor single female domestic workers.Based on the connotation of life course theory and the "process theory" of stress resistance theory,this paper analyzes the development process of stress resistance of the research object.Data collection is mainly conducted through in-depth interviews.Combining the plight of poor single female domestic workers and the events that affect their initiative,emotion,cognition and even life trajectory,the node of life events is combined with the model diagram of resilience generation,and the experience of poor single female domestic workers is roughly divided into four periods.Namely,four periods of "normal life period,the eve of single parenthood,the early post-single parenthood and the adjustment period",and through the interaction mechanism of "individual and environment" in these four periods,the protective factors and risk factors contained in the life events of each period are analyzed,so as to study the development process of the resilience of poor single female domestic workers.It is found that the development process of the resilience of poor female domestic workers with single parents is characterized by stages and presents a process pattern of "primary stage,dramatic change stage,reconstruction stage and growth stage".In addition,based on the process schema of resilience development,some operable suggestions on diversification support and policy protection are provided for the plight of poor single female domestic workers in practical fields in order to improve women’s ability,strengthen social support network and close social organization ties,so as to enhance their ability to cope with risks.
