Casework Involves Social Support Networks For Family Of People With Mental Illness Network Construction Research

The family of patients with mental illness is very important to the rehabilitation of patients with mental illness,and the group of families of patients with mental illness has gradually become the research object of scholars,long-term care for patients with mental illness,resulting in the physical and psychological impact of the families of patients with mental illness,weakening of social willingness,weakening of social support network,lack of social support for families of patients with mental illness,which affects both the life of family members and the rehabilitation of patients,social work as a professional helping service,in the research of families of patients with mental illness,Helping the families of people with mental illness to build a social support network can relieve the pressure on the families of people with mental illness and increase the possibility of recovery of people with mental illness.In this study,family members of patients with mental illness were selected as the client,guided by the social support network theory,and the practical methods of casework were used to collect data through semi-structured interview method and participatory observation method to help the client build a social support network.Through interviews with clients,social workers found that clients had serious negative emotions,reduced social interactions,increased economic expenses,and tense family relationships.In this regard,social workers carry out casework and formulate intervention plans after obtaining the consent of the client,and social workers improve the relationship between the client’s family and the negative emotions of the client by teaching communication skills,positive influence,role play,etc.Link resources to provide financial support for clients,reduce pressure on clients,and help clients get out of trouble.Through the summary and reflection of the intervention process,this study finds that the construction of social support network has a positive effect on the families of patients with mental illness,and the construction of social support network for families of patients with mental illness is effective.
