In recent years, functional movement training and core strength training have been commonly used in competitive sports and sports rehabilitation therapy, and have received attention from scholars such as sports rehabilitators and coaches, but there is a lack of research on integrating them into school physical education and comparing them with each other. In order to promote the development of school physical education,to better improve the physical fitness level of youth,to ensure the amount and load of physical training for students, and to enrich the content of physical education curriculum, functional movement training and core strength training are applied in physical education practice to provide reference for school physical education to improve students’physical fitness. Objective:To apply functional movement training and core strength training to school physical education teaching practice,to evaluate the effects of functional movement training and core strength training on adolescent physical fitness respectively,to compare the application effects of functional movement training and core strength training on adolescent physical fitness, and to provide reference for supplementing school physical education teaching methods to effectively promote student physical fitness. Methods:An experimental research method was used to recruit 60 students,30 males and 30 females, from the 21st grade school of Guilin Health School as intervention subjects. And randomly divided into three groups,20 students in each group,10 students of each sex;intervention for 12weeks,twice a week,40 minutes each time;experimental group 1(functional movement training+regular physical education class),experimental group 2(core strength training group+regular physical education class),control group(regular physical education class);each group before and after the intervention were tested for the following indicators:(1)functional movement screening,a total of 7 indicators;(2)YBT balance test,a total of 3 indexes;(3)physical fitness test,a total of 5 indexes;(4)grip strength test,a total of 2 indexes. Results:There were no significant differences(P>0.05)between experimental group 1,experimental group 2 and control group in the baseline indexes of functional movement screening,YBT balance test, weight grip strength index, and body mass test before the experiment, and after 12weeks of exercise intervention, experimental group 1,experimental group 2 and control group were included in the final outcome analysis.Compared to the pre-experimental period, the total functional movement screening score between groups after the experiment(experimental group 1:19.55±0.94,experimental group 2:18.05±0.89,control group:15.55±2.04,η~2=0.60)YBT balance test left leg composite values(experimental group 1:107.19±9.00,experimental group 2:101.79±9.20,control group:96.90±7.27,η~2=0.21),and left hand grip strength index of grip strength test(experimental group1:59.02±14.16,experimental group 2:60.43±11.07,control group:48.94±11.42,η~2=0.16)were significantly higher with statistical significance(all P<0.05).The paired t-test revealed no significant difference in the control group, which was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Compared with the pre-experimental results, the physical test scores of experimental group1 in 50m(sec):7.64±0.76,pull-ups(pcs):14.10±7.77,standing long jump(cm):219.87±14.84,seated forward bend(cm):18.10±3.04,were significantly higher than those of experimental group 2 in 50m(sec):7.92±0.84,pull-ups(pcs):7.05±4.34,standing long jump(cm):206.25±33.13,and seated forward bend(cm):13.67±5.51,which were significantly higher and statistically significant(all P<0.05).In the control group,50m(sec):8.45±0.65,pull-ups(pcs):8.90±7.89,standing long jump(cm):185.80±28.77,and seated forward bend(cm):10.71±4.84,there was no significant difference and no statistical significance(all P>0.05),in terms of the training effect of the above indexes, experimental group 1>experimental group 2>control group.Conclusion:(1)Functional movement training can improve the overall fitness and functional movement quality of youth compared to core strength training.(2)Core strength training can improve the core stability of youths’core while improving their physical fitness.(3)Both functional movement training and core strength training can effectively improve youths’fitness and core stability, but in terms of the balance of fitness improvement, functional movement training is more effective than core strength training.
