With the development of technology,the influence of blood and geography on social communication has weakened,people intend to find a sense of belonging in uncertain,fluid lives,and a new type of social relationship,interest groups,has emerged.Joining interest groups and participating in interactions has gradually become one of the ways for individuals to construct identity.Different from the common perception that "board game players lack stability and are difficult to form groups",tabletop role-playing gamers who pursue the satisfaction of social needs as the main driving force of games are comprehensively using online and offline platforms to play and socialize,form interest groups around the common interest of tabletop role-playing games,and shape identity in the process of gaming and interaction.This paper takes the group as the research object,and studies the identity issues of the group through in-depth interview,participatory observation and questionnaire survey,aiming to clarify the cause,characteristics and identity construction process of the group.It is found that the tabletop role-playing game interest group is the product of the social environment and the player’s psychology,and the group has its own unique features in terms of member structure,symbol use,and interactive relationship.The identity construction of tabletop role-playing game interest groups is divided into three aspects: first,individual players carry out diversified practical activities based on their own needs,and construct and strengthen their self-identity through self-presentation and reference to others;Second,group members form a positive understanding of "my group" in group interaction and communication activities,and build and highlight group identity through intra-group sharing and extra-group separation;Third,with the deepening of game contact,players gradually recognize and identify with the subculture of tabletop role-playing games,and actively act as cultural disseminators out of cultural identity.The significance of this study is to analyze the identity problems of interesting groups of tabletop role-playing games,show the significance of tabletop role-playing games for players’ identity construction,promote positive and healthy interactive behaviors,and guide players to participate in games rationally.Promote the subculture of tabletop role-playing games,update some people’s cognition of tabletop role-playing gamers,and help group members construct identities.In addition,by analyzing the characteristics of simulated social rules and strong interactivity of tabletop role-playing games,a game development paradigm is presented,which provides certain references for other games to reasonably construct the world view in the virtual world,play the edifying role of games,and enhance interactivity.
