| Statistical diagrams not only became widely used in social interactions,but also frequently appeared as an independent test question in Chinese examinations after the new round of college entrance examination reform in 2014.It accounts for 2% to 4% of the overall score and carries an examination score of 3 to 6 points,and its importance is increasingly prominent.According to the Chinese College Entrance Examination Assessment System,directing teaching is the primary function of the college entrance exam,and the statistics charts should be used to their utmost potential in this regard.However,in their regular lessons,teachers pay less attention to this teaching material,limiting themselves to just explaining and practicing test problems rather than coming up with efficient teaching strategies.To enhance the content of high school Chinese instruction,research on the statistical charts of Chinese in high schools should be conducted,and specialized teaching methodologies for statistical charts should be suggested.This thesis is broken down into seven sections:The introduction is the initial section and focuses mostly on the selection of the issue,its importance,the study’s content,current state,research ideas,and research techniques.The theoretical underpinnings and pedagogical significance of teaching statistical charts in high school Chinese’s classes are discussed in the second section.Based on constructivist learning theory and humanistic learning theory,the study makes the case that teaching statistical charts in high school Chinese’s classes can enhance Chinese teaching materials and foster students’ practical Chinese skills.The third part analyzes the Chinese statistical charting test questions in the college entrance examination,which helps to clarify the teaching of statistical charts and highlights the college entrance examination’s position as a teaching resource.This thesis chooses Chinese exam after a new round of reforms to college entrance exams in 2014,and examines the statistics chart test questions from three angles: test form,test materials,and test ability.It is discovered that the test questions’ content is drawn from real-world situations and exhibits the Chinese’s focus on application.The fourth section examines the current state of statistical charts used in teaching and learning,provides an overview of the issues,and performs an attribution study.The teaching of statistical charts in other topics was also examined in order to define the focus of Chinese instruction because the teaching of statistical charts occurs not only in Chinese but also in other subjects.Based on the findings of the test analysis and the survey interviews,the fifth component suggests instructional tactics.It is separated into two sections: one deals with teaching students how to read and communicate information from statistical charts,and the other deals with teaching using the textbook,resources from related fields,and real-world examples.The design of teaching snippets and teaching reflections for the teaching tactics suggested in the fifth part is covered in the sixth section.The seventh and final section ends with the wish that teachers would focus more on the instruction of statistical charts as well as other types of charts in Chinese exam. |
