In 2006,Professor Zhou Yizhen put forward the concept of computational thinking. She believes that computational thinking is a series of thinking activities that apply the relevant concepts of computer science to solve problems. With the development and popularization of computer technology, many scholars have begun to study computational thinking, which has gradually become a hot topic in the field of education. In 2017,the Ministry of Education promulgated the Curriculum Standards of Information Technology for Senior High Schools(2017 Edition),which regarded computational thinking as one of the core literacy of senior high school information technology discipline and became an important goal of information technology classroom teaching. How to train students’ computational thinking has become a problem for information technology teachers. In recent years,project-based learning has been widely used in the teaching practice of all grades and disciplines.Project-based learning can effectively stimulate students’ interest in learning and significantly improve students’ academic performance.Among them, the problem-solving oriented concept of project-based learning is highly consistent with the problem-solving process of computational thinking,so it is possible to use project-based teaching model to cultivate students’ computational thinking. With the help of the project-based learning model, this study considers and explores project-based learning from the perspective of cultivating students’ computational thinking, and tries to construct a project-based learning model for cultivating computational thinking,in order to provide reference and ideas for front-line teachers to cultivate students’ computational thinking.First of all, this study reviewed the relevant literature of computational thinking and project-based learning model at home and abroad, and sorted out the research results and relevant theoretical basis of computational thinking and project-based learning.Secondly, this paper analyzes the classical project-based learning model, explains the feasibility of project-based learning to cultivate students’ computational thinking, and builds a project-based learning model for the cultivation of computational thinking by combining the construction principles of the project-based learning model for the cultivation of computational thinking. Finally, the constructed learning model is applied to teaching practice to verify the application effect of the learning model. The learning model designed in this research divides the teaching process into six links, which are project determination, scheme design, practical exploration, problem solving, achievement exchange, summary and evaluation. All links are closely linked. The practical stage was carried out in a middle school in Hebei Province. Two classes with the same level in grade one were selected as the experimental class and the control class. The experimental process was designed and teaching activities were organized according to the curriculum objectives and requirements.Through qualitative analysis of project exploration process records and student interview records, the effectiveness of this model in cultivating computational thinking and improving academic performance is verified. The results show that the project-based learning mode of computational thinking training designed in this study is feasible; It can effectively promote the improvement of students’ ability of algorithm design and problem solving,so as to improve the level of students’ computational thinking. It can effectively improve students’ interest in information technology, and finally improve the learning effect of the course.
