Since the beginning of China’s reform and opening-up policy, along with the continuous industrialisation and urbanisation of the country, surplus rural labour began to move continuously to the cities.Out of consideration for the economic aspects of their families, most peasant families have made the household choice of semi-mobility.Taking life course theory as the research perspective, this paper uses a combination of interview, observation and process-event analysis methods to collect and analyse first-hand data through interviews with semi-mobile rural family members. The parent-child and couple relationships in the process of mobility are examined in the context of the macro social space-time field and the micro individual life event connections. It focuses on how parents fulfil their parental roles after families have made semi-mobile decisions, analyses the impact of semi-mobile family decisions on each family member, and analyses the feasibility of social work interventions in the new social context,in an attempt to demonstrate the shaping role and special significance of semi-mobility as a special life event for parent-child and couple relationships.Chapter 1 is divided into six chapters: Chapter 1 introductory chapter includes the background of the study, the purpose and significance of the topic, literature review, research ideas and methods;Chapter 2 includes the definition of core concepts, theoretical framework and sample selection and sources;Chapters 3 to 5 are the main part of the article, which describes in detail and depth the evolution of family structure in the parental role of semi-mobile families, analyses the causes that influence families to make semi-mobile decisions, and analyses the family’s role in the family. The fifth part is the practical intervention, based on the analysis of the current situation, the selection of casework subjects, the exploration of the parenting needs of rural families, and the development of a parenting programme for the families of M06 members based on the casework method and the parenting counselling method, followed by the practical work;the sixth chapter is the summary reflection and feasible suggestions, which is a summary and reflection on the results of this study.Chapter 6 is a summary of the findings and reflections. The study found that semi-mobile family decision-making is a rational choice made by both spouses based on the overall interests of the family, and is a rational choice made by peasant families on their own initiative in order to adapt to the social transition. The evolution of parental roles in semi-mobile families is divided into a stable triangular relationship before mobility, overlapping multiple roles during mobility and re-adjustment of family relationships after the end of mobility;family livelihood considerations, rational choices to maximise family interests, traditional social division of labour and gender concepts and child-centred investment in education are the main reasons that influence families to make semi-mobile choices, and also bring about the feminisation of agriculture and a The tendency to feminise agriculture, the weakening of contact between fathers and children, and the problems of marital quality are also problems. This paper attempts to use casework techniques to intervene in the adjustment of parental roles, improve the relationship between husband and wife and parent-child relations, acquire the right communication methods, better fulfil their parental roles, improve parenting education and create a good family environment. |
