In order to better implement the Guidelines for Learning and Development of Children Aged 3-6(Guidelines)and improve children’s gross motor development during the critical period of children’s gross motor development, improve this study used literature method, questionnaire method, interview method, and experimental method to analyze and compare the effects of core stability training on 5-6years old after going through core stability training program and traditional physical training program, using BOSU ball as a training carrier. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of core stability training in promoting gross motor development in children aged 5-6 years old and to provide suggestions for the development of pre-school and early physical education programs. In this paper,38 children(21 boys and 17 girls, mean age 5.3 years)were randomly selected as experimental subjects, and 38 children were divided into experimental and control groups,19 in each group, using the PDMS-2 motor development scale and four core stability indicators as test items. The children in the experimental group were given core stability training during practice, while the children in the control group were given traditional physical training during practice, and were guided to learn and practice various basic and compound movement skills, such as standing, walking, jumping, throwing, catching, etc. The children in the control group were not involved in core stability training during training.Children in both groups attended one corresponding training session per week for one hour each, and the experiment was conducted for a total of 16 weeks. At the completion of the experiment,a second test was done on all children and the data was compared and analyzed with the data before the experiment.Study findings:(1)Both training modalities used were able to promote the development of gross motor movements in children in both groups after 16 weeks of the experiment.(2)Compared with the pre-intervention period, there was a significant difference between the scores of children in the experimental and control groups after the intervention(P < 0.01),and the test scores of children in both groups improved after core stability training and traditional physical training. This indicates that both training methods have a facilitating effect on the development of children’s gross motor movements.(3)After core stability training, children in the experimental group had different degrees of improvement in core stability, balance, body coordination, muscle strength and joint stability, therefore, children in the experimental group had higher scores in core stability test and gross motor test than the control group, and the improvement in gross motor scores was more significant, which means that core stability training has a better effect on the development of gross motor in children. The improvement in gross motor performance was more significant, which means that core stability training has a better effect on children’s gross motor development, which verifies the experimental hypothesis proposed in this study, and also provides effective information to support the effective training methods to promote children’s gross motor development.
