Paying attention to the professional well-being of rural primary school teachers will help improve the quality of life of rural primary school teachers and promote the reform and development of rural primary education. In view of this, this article conducts interviews with 15 teachers from 5 rural primary schools in Shuangfeng County,Loudi City,Hunan Province.Through in-depth interviews, combined with a large number of narratives of teachers, the following conclusions are drawn by sorting out the analysis materials.Firstly, although the professional well-being of rural primary school teachers has improved compared with the past, the overall happiness is currently low;Secondly, the wages and benefits, job achievement and self-development of rural primary school teachers are the main factors affecting their professional well-being;Thirdly,rural primary school teachers lack professional identity, professional cognition needs to be further improved, professional emotions are negative, professional will is not firm enough, and job burnout is becoming younger;Fourth, the management of schools is not truly people-oriented,which makes rural primary school teachers have less opportunities for self-learning and development, and their families need to give them greater tolerance and understanding. Therefore, this article proposes the following measures to effectively improve the professional well-being of rural primary school teachers.First, relevant government departments need to establish reasonable expectations for teachers, create a good public opinion environment, improve wages and raise awareness of rural family education.Second, the school work and living environment and management mechanism need to be further optimized, such as reducing teachers’ non-teaching tasks, providing professional learning and development platforms, and paying attention to the physical and mental health of rural primary school teachers.Thirdly, the family gives teachers more understanding and support to further enhance teachers’ professional well-being.Finally,as a teacher, individuals should pay attention to their physical and mental health,self-improvement of professional identity, strengthen self-learning,and develop professional literacy.
