The Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)clearly include mathematical thinking methods in the basic objectives of primary mathematics in the compulsory education stage. As one of the more important mathematical ideas, transformation thinking plays an important role in the cultivation of students’ mathematical thinking and the learning of mathematical knowledge, and the improvement of teachers’ own literacy and teaching skills, and occupies an important position in the teaching of "graphics and geometry" in mathematics in the upper primary schools.Based on the importance of transformational thinking and the current situation of unoptimistic teaching, this paper explores the teaching strategy of "graphics and geometry" in upper primary school based on transformational thinking, and provides strategic guidance for the teaching of "graphics and geometry" under the guidance of transformational thinking. This study is divided into an introduction and five parts. In the introduction part, the background, research significance and research purpose of the topic selection are determined on the basis of the existing literature, and the concepts of mathematical thought, transformation thought, graphics and geometry are defined, and the current situation, research ideas and research methods of domestic and foreign research are discussed. The first chapter determines the theoretical basis of transformational thinking through the literature method, puts forward the application principles of transformational thinking, and expounds the feasibility of applying transformational ideas in the teaching of "graphics and geometry" in the upper primary school. The second chapter systematically sorts out the specific content related to the transformation idea in the upper primary school "Graphics and Geometry" of the People’s Education Edition, and clarifies which "graphics and geometry" content teaching can penetrate the transformation thought. In the third chapter, the current situation of teaching is investigated through teacher questionnaires and teacher interviews, and the survey results are analyzed. At the same time, classroom observation is carried out through observation method,in order to objectively and truly understand the current situation of "graphics and geometry" teaching in upper primary school based on transformational thinking.Chapter 4,on the basis of analyzing the survey results, summarizes the current problems in the teaching of "graphics and geometry" in the upper primary school based on transformational thinking, mainly including: insufficient understanding of transformational thinking, insufficient reflection of transformational thinking in teaching objectives, insufficient attention to process teaching, and insufficient summary and reflection of transformational thinking. The existing problems are attributed to the following reasons: teachers’ attention to transforming thinking and their awareness of application are not strong, teachers’ knowledge mastery and teaching research ability are insufficient, traditional concepts of examination-oriented education thinking are difficult to change, and heavy work makes teachers’ sense of reflection weak.Chapter 5,on the basis of the above research, combined with relevant teaching cases, proposes a teaching strategy of "graphics and geometry" in upper primary school based on transformational thinking.
