The teaching of popular science texts in primary school contains rich resources for cultivating students’ scientific awareness and scientific literacy,which can help students broaden their scientific horizons and improve their scientific thinking skills,and they assume an irreplaceable and important mission in the field of primary school languages.However,due to the low proportion of popular science texts in textbooks and the abstract and esoteric scientific knowledge contained in popular science texts,primary school students are not interested in learning popular science texts,which makes the teaching of popular science texts a situation that has been neglected by teachers for a long time.In order to make science texts get out of the teaching dilemma and give full play to their proper nurturing function,it is of great significance to explore the design direction of teaching science texts in primary school language under the guidance of the concept of learning task groups.Based on the research method of questionnaires and interviews,questionnaires were distributed to 200 primary school students in the middle and upper grades,and interviews were conducted with six primary school language teachers who teach the middle and upper grades,in order to understand the current situation of science popular literature in primary school language in terms of the knowledge of science popular literature,the learning and teaching of science popular literature,as well as the knowledge and acceptance of learning task groups;combined with literature analysis,to sort out the importance of learning task groups for improving On the basis of this,we explore the specific strategies for teaching popular science texts in primary school under the concept of learning task groups,and develop the teaching design around the three popular science texts in Unit 7 of the second book of Grade 3 of the Unified Edition primary school language textbook.Based on the above research and analysis,it is found that the following problems exist in primary school language science texts in terms of students’ learning and teachers’ teaching: students and teachers have an incomplete understanding of science texts,students’ awareness and ability to learn science texts independently are lacking,teaching contents lack integration,teaching methods are not flexible enough and so on.In order to better solve the problems of teaching popular science texts,according to the requirements of the new curriculum on teaching popular science texts in the learning task group,the teaching objectives of primary school level popular science texts are clarified,and the characteristics of the learning task group of contextualization,practice and synthesis are combined to propose specific strategies for teaching primary school language popular science texts in four aspects: teaching content,learning context,learning tasks and practice activities,and based on the strategies from overall design,goal design,process design and evaluation design.The task group "The Wonderful Natural World" is a practical reading and communication task group designed to improve the teaching quality of popular science texts,stimulate primary school students’ interest in learning popular science texts and achieve the overall development of language and scientific literacy.
