China has created a miracle of rapid economic growth that is rare in the world, but behind it,problems such as the mismatch between supply and demand and insufficient domestic effective demand have become increasingly apparent. In response to the relative lack of consumer demand, the "Proposal of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Formulating the 14 th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Visionary Goals for 2035" has made a comprehensive plan on how to promote consumerism, and proposed to form a strong domestic market and build a new development pattern by "enhancing the fundamental role of consumption in economic development and responding to the trend of consumption upgrading " To form a strong domestic market and build a new development pattern.According to the life-cycle-persistent income hypothesis, household wealth is the most important factor influencing consumption. However, the large degree of inequality in wealth of resident households in China has inhibited the growth of domestic effective demand. The tenth meeting of the Central Finance and Economics Commission pointed out that we should solidly promote common prosperity and facilitate and enhance social mobility. So,in the process of exploring the goal of common prosperity, can the promotion of population mobility reduce the degree of household wealth inequality? Can the reduction of household wealth inequality stimulate residents’ consumption? This article takes the perspective of common prosperity to systematically explore these two questions under one framework. It proposes effective countermeasures for China to establish a long-term mechanism to promote residents’ consumption, unleash their consumption potential and smooth out the domestic general circulation.First, this paper explores the mechanism of population mobility on household wealth disparity in the context of regional income disparity. The results of the study show that population mobility can significantly reduce household wealth inequality;regional income disparity has a positive moderating role in reducing household wealth inequality in low-skilled households and in areas with higher house prices;and the regression of the mediating effects model shows that the structure of household asset allocation is an important way to reduce wealth inequality in the court of the mobile population. On this basis,we further explore that the financial literacy of the mobile population can facilitate the adjustment of household asset allocation structure;financial marketisation negatively moderates the impact of household asset allocation structure on household wealth inequality.Secondly, the mechanism of the impact of household wealth inequality on residents’ consumption is explored. The results of the study show that a reduction in household wealth inequality can promote residents’ consumption. The heterogeneity analysis shows that the age structure of the From the perspective of household asset allocation structure, the negative effect of household wealth inequality on consumption is significant in middle-aged and elderly groups;from the perspective of education level, household wealth inequality has a significant negative effect on consumption in the middle-educated group;from the perspective of household asset allocation structure, household wealth inequality has a significant negative effect on consumption in households with a single household asset allocation structure, while in households with a In households with a single asset allocation structure, wealth inequality has a significant negative effect on consumption, while in households with a more diversified asset allocation structure, wealth inequality has a significant positive effect on consumption.Thirdly, based on the analysis of the impact path and mechanism of action,a system dynamics model of residential consumption is constructed and simulated, and policy-sensitive points are selected for analysis of the impact effect,so as to propose effective countermeasures for boosting domestic residential consumption.
