| Language is one of the important basic subjects in our education system and is the base project of subject teaching,with a pioneering and instrumental role.The importance of reading teaching and learning in compulsory education is evident from the fact that the latest Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)places reading as the core of developmental task groups and the basis of extension task groups.Primary school is the initial stage of reading instruction,where students’ cognition and thinking are still immature and their knowledge base and life experiences are still being constructed,so it is particularly important to choose theories that are adapted to students’ development for teaching.With the further development of research on schema theory,more and more researchers have begun to explore the application of schema theory to the language curriculum,but because there is relatively little in-depth research on schema theory by scholars at home and abroad,it still lacks practical operability when applied to the process of reading teaching.Therefore,the establishment of a reasonable reading teaching model to guide teaching is of some significance in enhancing the reading teaching ability of primary school students and improving the quality of teachers’ reading teaching.This study applies the schema theory,which is in line with students’ cognitive development characteristics,to primary school language reading teaching,analyses the applicability of the schema theory in the process of using the Ministry’s version of primary school language teaching materials,and tries to establish a teaching model to guide reading teaching.Firstly,the development of schema theory and its application in reading teaching are analysed and studied at home and abroad,and the relevant concepts are defined,taking schema theory as the theoretical basis.Secondly,the principles that should be followed in the process of reading teaching are proposed.A macro-guidance is given to teachers’ teaching and students’ learning according to the types of schema,and the teaching steps are refined to form a teaching model that applies schema theory.The teaching model is applied to the teaching process by implementing specific teaching cases using texts from the Ministry’s edition of the textbook as examples,so as to test the appropriateness of schema theory in the teaching of reading.Finally,reflections are made on the problems that have arisen in the teaching process and prospects for the future development of reading teaching are offered.In conclusion,it is important to explore the integration of schema theory and reading teaching in primary school to improve the problems in students’ learning and teachers’ teaching.Determining the principles,teaching modes and teaching methods of reading teaching in primary school from a schema perspective can provide primary school language teachers with a new path to think about teaching design and thus improve the quality of reading teaching. |
