| As the aging of China’s population becomes more and more serious,the problem of old age in China is becoming more and more prominent,especially in rural areas,which are facing a huge problem of old age.As a special disadvantaged group in society,it is extremely important to improve the spiritual life of the rural five-guarantee elderly.Due to the social changes and the increasing age,the ability of the elderly to satisfy their own needs has been reduced,although the state has guaranteed the minimum living needs of the elderly through the "five guarantees" system of "food,clothing,housing,medical care,and burial",after their material needs are satisfied,their emotional,social,and cultural needs have been reduced.After their material needs are satisfied,their higher spiritual needs such as emotion,socialization,culture and entertainment,and self-actualization have become a real problem that needs to be solved.This study takes X town Y old people’s home as an example,and based on the author’s internship in this place,she investigates the current situation of the life of the elderly in centralized care and analyzes their mental state.The typical cases found in the internship were used as service targets,and the case work method was applied to provide spiritual comfort services for the elderly.After anticipating the problems and needs of the clients,the intervention objectives were determined and a case work plan was formulated.The whole intervention process was divided into three stages: first,the pre-intervention stage,after establishing a professional relationship,the client’s irrational beliefs were examined using rational emotion therapy,and then the client was helped to dissolve the irrational beliefs and construct new emotions and behaviors;second,the potential development stage,firstly,the client’s social support system was sorted out and strengthened,secondly,the client was helped to find hobbies and interests;third,the self-worth stage,firstly,the client was given a The third stage is to find self-worth,firstly,to conduct a life review and strengthen the value of self-existence by recalling the proud experiences in the past,secondly,to affirm the changes that have occurred in the case and strengthen her self-confidence,and finally,to deal with the sadness of the case closure,through the three stages of intervention to help the case owner perceive her self-worth,so that she can face life with a positive attitude and have a happy old age.This intervention proves that the casework approach is a useful attempt to address the spiritual needs of the rural elderly.Identifying and dissipating the irrational beliefs of the elderly through rational emotional therapy is the basis for meeting the spiritual comfort needs of the elderly,while life review is an effective way to keep the elderly in a positive state of mind and affirm their self-worth. |
