Research On Social Work Intervention In Urban Community Cultural Elderly Care Services

Currently,China is undergoing an accelerating process of population aging.With the increase in people’s demand for a better life and the introduction of the concept of "active aging",comprehensive reform of the supply side of elderly care services is imperative.Especially with the rapid development of China’s political,economic,and social infrastructure,the people’s spiritual and material living standards are constantly improving.Urban community elderly people demand high-quality community elderly care services.The multi-level needs continue to increase,and when material needs are met,more and more emphasis is placed on spiritual experience and self realization.Cultural elderly care has gradually become a new demand and way of providing elderly care services for young people in urban communities.With the continuous development of the social work industry,domestic communities,especially urban communities,are gradually forming a supply model of community public services with party committee leadership,government responsibility,multi-party linkage,social collaboration,and public participation,with good service facilities and relatively sufficient funding.The professional values and a series of professional theories and methods of helping people with self-help in social work have gradually become important support for community services,especially for elderly people.This study relies on the elderly social work service projects implemented by a social work service institution in Wuhan in multiple communities within the province.Based on an in-depth investigation of the current situation,problems,and spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly in a community in Wuhan,the basic concepts,core viewpoints,and values of the theory of active aging and group dynamics are reasonably applied.With the support of professional social work institutions and the guidance of social work supervision,Research uses group work and community work methods to provide cultural and elderly care social work services for the elderly.During the service,process and effectiveness evaluations are conducted through questionnaire surveys,interviews,and symposiums.The service plan and structure are continuously improved,and the experience and shortcomings of the service are reflected on.Based on this,demand oriented,from the government,community suggestions and strategies for improving the involvement of social work in urban community cultural elderly care services are proposed from four levels: Government,community,social work institutions,and social workerssocial work institutions and social workers.
