With the proposal of the six core literacy of mathematics,the research on the mathematical operation literacy has become an educational research upsurge.Mathematical operation literacy contains rich academic value,thinking value and practical application value.Plane vector is the bridge connecting algebra and geometry,and operation is an important part of plane vector.Therefore,it is necessary to study mathematical operation literacy based on plane vector.This paper takes the plane vector as the knowledge carrier and the mathematical operation literacy as the core to conduct an investigation and research on teachers and students in K City,Yunnan Province.This study first investigated the current status of teacher teaching and student learning of plane vector mathematical operations literacy.On the one hand,according to the LICC classroom observation paradigm,a plane vector classroom observation scale based on mathematical operation literacy was developed,and the observation points were subdivided into teaching behaviors that can be observed by teachers in the classroom and can reflect mathematical operation literacy.Quantify the evaluation results after observation,supplemented by interviews with teachers,obtained the current situation of teachers’ training of students’ mathematical literacy in plane vector teaching,and found the problems in teachers’ teaching.On the other hand,according to the curriculum standard,a mathematical operation literacy evaluation framework for plane vectors involving four dimensions and three levels has been prepared,and the test paper has been prepared in combination with the curriculum standard,textbook and evaluation framework.The students from three different grades of schools in K City were tested,and 253 valid test results from the recycling were counted with the help of mathematical statistical software,the overall level of students’ mathematical operations literacy and the differences between different levels of schools were obtained,and the typical errors of students in vector computing were summarized.Then,based on the current situation obtained from the above survey,with the ultimate goal of improving students’ mathematical literacy level,the improvement strategies are given from the teacher side and the student side.The main results of this study are the teaching status,learning status and improvement strategies of mathematical operation literacy.Through statistical analysis of 253 valid test papers collected,it is found that the mathematical operation literacy of students in K City is mostly at level one or level two.Students have four types of typical errors in plane vector learning,for example,basic knowledge is not solid,and formulas and rules are memorized and applied mechanically.Through the quantitative analysis of 59 effective observation scales collected,it is found that teachers do the best in the communication and reflection dimensions and the worst in the knowledge and skills dimensions in the plane vector classroom teaching of mathematical operation literacy.And the teaching situation of mathematical literacy needs to be improved.Based on the current situation,three teaching suggestions and four learning suggestions are put forward.
