In recent years,China has put forward corresponding policy requirements for the reform of continuing education,changing the long-standing phenomenon of unclear positioning of continuing education in general colleges and universities,with the motivation of obtaining “external economic benefits”,emphasising the improvement of the quality of teaching in continuing education,formalising adult qualifications and ensuring the cultivation of socially useful talents.Teachers,as key figures in improving the quality of teaching in further education,are the direct executors of teaching,but their part-time nature is prominent,their teaching ability varies,and schools lack evaluation mechanisms to promote teacher development and effective control.At present,there are a series of problems in the evaluation of teachers in domestic continuing education,such as teachers’ low enthusiasm for participation and weak awareness of professional development;the purpose of evaluation is mainly management and monitoring,ignoring the role of evaluation on teaching improvement;the evaluation content is heavy in weight but light in quality,lacking the characteristics of teaching in online continuing education;the evaluation of multiple subjects is just a formality,and teachers’ right to participate is missing;the interpretation of evaluation rules is neglected,and the evaluation method is single;the evaluation results are used as the basis for rewards and punishments,and there is a lack of guiding feedback.Effective teacher evaluation is a key measure to ensure teachers’ commitment to teaching,improve teaching and promote their professional growth.At present,how to improve teachers’ teaching behaviour through evaluation research in continuing education,effectively enhance teachers’ enthusiasm to engage in teaching in continuing education and improve the quality of teaching,has become an urgent problem to be solved in the current reform process of continuing education.Based on the above background,the core research question of this study is “How to promote teachers to improve the online teaching level of academic continuing education through the design and application of teacher evaluation? ”,Includes the following four sub-questions:(1)What is the current status of teacher evaluation in continuing education?(1)What is the current status of teacher evaluation in continuing education? How to design teacher evaluation that incorporates the concept of developmental evaluation?(2)How to determine the index items of the online continuing education teacher evaluation index system? How to optimize it?(3)How to allocate the relative weights of each indicator item in the evaluation of online continuing education teachers?What is the structure of the evaluation system?(4)Does the application of the evaluation system for teachers of online continuing education have a positive impact on the improvement of teachers’ teaching and the improvement of their teaching standards?In order to solve the above problems,this study follows the research lines of literature and theoretical research,investigation of the current situation,evaluation design,construction of evaluation index system,and analysis of evaluation application effects,and explores the following contents: the current situation of evaluation of teachers of continuing education,the design of teacher evaluation incorporating the concept of developmental evaluation,the initial construction and iterative improvement of the evaluation index system of teachers of continuing education,the determination of the relative weights of each evaluation index,the architecture and implementation of the evaluation system,and the analysis of evaluation application effects.The research findings include the following three aspects:(1)the evaluation of teachers in continuing education;(2)the evaluation of teachers in continuing education;(3)the evaluation of teachers in continuing education;and(4)the evaluation of teachers in continuing education.The findings of the study include three aspects:(1)the integration of the developmental evaluation concept and the reward and punishment evaluation concept,highlighting the "people-oriented" evaluation concept,which provides a more scientific evaluation idea for the design of further education teacher evaluation and makes further education teacher evaluation more reasonable.(2)The integration of evaluation feedback and self-reflection has given full play to the guidance and improvement functions of developmental teacher evaluation,which has led to the formation of teachers’ self-reflective consciousness and promoted their internal development.(3)The study confirms the significance and value of developmental teacher evaluation in teaching improvement and teaching quality enhancement,thus providing a reference for further research and practice on teacher evaluation in the field of online academic continuing education. |
