| In recent years,with the competition of the Chinese Super League becoming more and more fierce and the quality of the game constantly improving,the external attention and influence continue to rise,so the referee’s decision ability also put forward higher requirements.Due to the impact of the national team’s participation in the World Cup qualifiers and the COVID-19 pandemic,the Chinese Football Association adopted a special format for the 2021 season,in which local referees officiated the matches and a large number of young referees participated.Therefore,the analysis of referees’ decisions in the 2021 Chinese Super League has a far-reaching influence on improving the level of referees’ decisions in China.In this paper,the referees’ judgments in the second stage of the Chinese Super League in the 2021 season are taken as the research object,and the methods such as literature,expert interview,questionnaire,video observation and mathematical statistics are adopted to analyze the referees’ judgments on fouls,disciplinary penalties,mastery advantage,VAR involvement,running distance and so on.By comparing with some penalty decisions of foreign high-level referees,the differences and trends of penalty decisions between Chinese Super League referees and foreign high-level referees in2021 season are drawn,which provides practical reference and theoretical basis for Chinese referees’ penalty decisions,and the following conclusions are drawn:(1)In the 2021 season,the average number of fouls awarded by Chinese Super League referees is more than that of foreign high-level referees,which is mainly reflected in the late stage of the game;In addition,CSL referees are stricter on pushing and upper body movements in the front area,mainly because there are fewer controversial calls.(2)In the 2021 season,the number of referees in the championship group was more than that in the relegation group;In the two groups,the referee’s midfield area had the most favorable times,followed by the front area and the least in the back area.The most favorable time period is 16-30 min,while the most favorable time period of foreign high-level referees is 0-15 min,indicating that the game control ability of Chinese Super League referees is inferior to that of foreign high-level referees.(3)The number of yellow cards presented by referees in the midfield area in the 2021 season is the most,indicating that the competition in the midfield area of the Super League is more intense;In addition,the most red cards presented by referees were at the front of the penalty area in the 76-90 min of the game,and the most red cards were for damaging an opponent’s clear scoring chance at the front of the penalty area,followed by violence.(4)The average time of VAR intervention consumption in Super League in 2021 is higher than that in 2018 World Cup,mainly because the level of judgment between referees and VAR is not uniform,resulting in more field review times and longer consumption time.(5)The average running distance and live ball running distance per game of referees in the championship group of the Chinese Super League in the 2021 season are both higher than those in the relegation group,both of which are higher than foreign high-level referees,indicating that the running ability of referees in the 2021 Chinese Super League is better than foreign high-level referees. |
