| The essence of smart library is to take users as the center and provide services for them by useing various technologies and methods. However, most studies about smart library services focus on the recommendation of books and paths, few studies have targeted reading context that can affect readers’ emotions to analyze and research. Therefore, this study will analyze readers’ emotions in different contexts, and select the context that can most stimulate their positive emotions for combination matching and recommendation,so as to improve the comfort of reader’s reading experience, and to broaden the research perspective of smart libraries to a certain extent. The main research process and methods are as follows:(1)Selection of reading contexts.Select several main contexts that have a greater impact on the reading experience, and determine the changing dimensions of each context.Through literature reading and field research, this paper selects three contextual factors:space, light, and music as the factors that affect readers’ reading emotions. The dimension of influence is controlled by the size of the space, the warmth and coldness of the light, and the speed of the music rhythm.(2)The recognition and classification of readers’ facial expressions in different contexts. The recognition method of facial expression defines the recognition and classification of expressions. This paper will capture the expressions of readers in different combinations of contexts, classify facial expressions by using the facial expression recognition method——the active appearance model method, and correspond these facial expressions to 7 emotions which are happiness, sadness, anger, fear, disgust, surprise, and neutral.(3)Analysis of the correlation between readers’ emotions and different contexts.Count all of the emotions in different contexts, and calculate the correlation between the three kinds of contexts and the seven kinds of emotions by using correlation analysis method, then count and analyze the correlation results. The experimental results show that the reader’s emotion when reading is significantly related to the three contexts of space, light, and music, indicating that the size of the space, the warmth of the light, and the speed of the music will have a greater impact on the reader’s reading experience.Through further analysis of the experimental results, this paper draws the following conclusions:A larger space, natural light, and slow-paced music can significantly reduce readers’ negative emotions and increase readers’ positive emotions, that is,it can improve readers’ reading comfort;Compared with changes in the size of space and changes in music rhythm, changes in light will have a greater impact on readers’ mood. For this reason, this paper suggests that in the future, libraries can build a wide-area,light-transparent reading environment, supplemented by gentle music when necessary,to provide users with a comfortable reading environment and enhance readers’ reading experience. |
