| Library and information science has a strong epochal character.With the changes of information technology and information environment,the society has put forward some new requirements for the knowledge and skills of library and information science professionals.The professional education of library and information science is an important way to cultivate professional talents.Therefore,the education of library and information science needs to adapt to the ever-changing social needs and to adjust the previous education mode.The library and information science education in China started relatively late,while the Nordic library and information industry is relatively developed.Summarizing and learning the advanced experience of library and information science education in the Northern Europe has important theoretical and practical significance for improving the construction of the library and information science talent team in China.In this paper,literature research,network investigation,comparative research and other methods are used to investigate and analyze the library and information science talent training system in the Northern Europe from the six aspects of training objectives,degree structure,training direction,access and graduation requirements,curriculum system,and faculty,so as to discover the characteristics of library and information science education in the Northern Europe and put forward suggestions for improvement of library and information science education in China.This paper consists of four parts:The first part is to sort out the literature on the key areas of the training of library and information science professionals at home and abroad,the related research of Nordic library and information science education,the theory of library and information science education,the theory of comparative education,and the research methods of comparative education of library and information science.All of these can lay the foundation for subsequent research.In the second part,visit the websites of 16 library and information colleges in the Northern Europe to investigate and analyze their talent training system from six aspects:training objectives,degree structure,training direction,access and graduation requirements,curriculum system,and faculty.The third part summarizes and analyzes the characteristics of library and information science education in the Northern Europe:(1)Career-oriented training objectives;(2)Complete degree education and mature and diverse non-degree education;(3)Subdivided and refined research direction;(4)Strict and flexible entry barriers;(5)Interdisciplinary curriculum system and teaching staff;(6)Teaching arrangements integrating in internship exchanges and professional projects.In the fourth part,combining with Chinese situation,the following suggestions are put forward:(1)Setting career-oriented training goals;(2)Establishing an education system that combines degree education and non-degree education;(3)Refining the cultivate directions of postgraduates;(4)Regulating the entry and exit requirements of graduate students strictly;(5)Establishing an interdisciplinary curriculum system and talent team;(6)Innovating education and teaching methods,and providing professional internships,overseas exchanges,and project participation opportunities. |
