How to evaluate the comprehensive performance of operators in human-machine collaborative tasks has always been a concern in the field of automation. How to maintain good personnel performance under different system task complexity and the system automation function failure has always been the goal of a human-machine collaborative system. Therefore, the thesis aims to evaluate the impact of task complexity and system failure on personnel’s operation performance in a typical multi-task monitoring environment from multiple dimensions(operation performance, workload, situationa awareness, automation trust and attention allocation),and to explore how to improve the negative impact of automation system failure on operator’s job performance from the perspective of information transparency,so as to provide an effective technical means to maintain "human in the loop" ability and provide a theoretical basis for the field of automation. The main work of this thesis is as follows:(1)Based on the research status and relevant literature at home and abroad, this thesis analyzes the relationship between monitoring task complexity and operation performance, the impact of system automation failure on the operator and tasks, and the relationship between interface transparency and task performance, determines the research content, proposes the research hypothesis, and designs the research framework and technical route.(2)On the basis of investigation and analysis of the literature related to task complexity, the complexity level of the monitoring task is set,and the corresponding monitoring task is designed on the MATB-Ⅱ platform.Experiments are used to explore the impact of task complexity on operator workload, situation awareness, operation performance level and attention allocation. The experimental results show that task complexity has a significant impact on the subjective workload and operational performace of operators. The higher task complexity is,the greater subjective workload of the operator and the lower operation performance are.(3)In order to explore the impact of system automation failure on task performance, two scenarios with different failure degrees and failure frequencies of the system are designed.Based on the MATB-Ⅱ task, the full factorial human factor experimental design is adopted to study the impact of system automation function failure on task performance, situation awareness, workload, attention allocation and operator’s trust in system automation. The analysis results show that different failure degrees and failure frequencies of the system have a significant impact on workload and automation trust. The higher failure degree and frequency are,the higher the workload of operators and the lower the degree of automation trust are.(4)On how to improve the negative effect of automation system failure on operator performance problems, through the design of different transparency of the humanmachine interaction interface of the system, the effects of non-transparency and low and high transparency on operation performance, situation awareness, workload, attention allocation, and operator trust in system automation are studied. The experimental results show that the system interface transparency has a significant effect on workload, operation performance and automation trust.Improving information transparency will reduce the workload of operators, improve workload performance and improve operator’s trust in system automation.
