Research On The Construction Of Police Image In The Police Documentary "Program Guarding The Liberation Of The West"

Since entering the new era,the shaping and publicity of the image of the police force have received unprecedented attention,and the image of the police is an important part of the image of the government.A good image of the police can not only promote the stable and harmonious development of the society but also increase the public’s awareness of the police group and shorten the relationship between the police and the people.This paper takes the police documentary program "Guarding liberation West" as an example.The program focuses on the real story of the police station in Liberation West Pozi Street,Changsha,and takes the daily police work of grassroots policemen as the cutting point.The publicity of police image is both individual and representative.The construction method of the police image in the program consists of alternate natural narrative situations,flexible narrative space and time,and a unique multi-dimensional narrative structure to form a diversified narrative form and depict the police image.The audio-visual language of the program skillfully renders the atmosphere and further enriches the image of the police.The derivative animated short film added at the later stage of the program not only breaks through the traditional dignified and ruthless policeman image but also increases the young image of the new policeman.From the perspective of the police images constructed in Guarding the Liberation of the West,different police are shaped into distinct individual and life-oriented images,as well as professional group images,such as the three levels of cracking down on crimes,serving the masses,and sticking to their posts.Through the analysis of the image constructed and presented in the program,it is found that there are some problems in the current police documentary programs in shaping the image of the police,such as one-sided image,homogenization,and lack of in-depth analysis of the program cases.In the development and creation process of similar programs in the future,attention should be paid to the police stories of different police classification and different regions.It is necessary to combine social current events and vivid judicial interpretation of social hot topics.A good police image is conducive to actively guiding the improvement of the social public’s education literacy of rule of law and creating an environment for the cultivation of the concept of rule of law with a distinct theme.
