With the rapid development of emerging services such as 5G and applications with high speed and bandwidth requirements(such as highdefinition TV,cloud computing, content distribution, etc.),global network traffic has grown rapidly. The ever-increasing traffic is a huge challenge for the metro optical network, which acts as an important bridge connecting users to the backbone network. Therefore, the need for scalable, costeffective and bandwidth-efficient network architectures with high throughput and flexibility is becoming more and more urgent for metro optical network. The network architecture called space division multiplexing-elastic optical network(SDM-EON)has become an inevitable trend in the development of new-generation metro optical network, which has the characteristics of elastic optical network(EON)and space-division multiplexing(SDM).Meanwhile,multi-band(MB)technology(also called Band Division Multiplexing,BDM)has become a short-term solution to the problem of capacity crunch due to its advantage that it can be upgraded on deployed fibers.Although the use of SDM and MB bring the advantages of high capacity and resource elasticity to the metro optical network, they also increase the interference constraints of the transmission medium, which makes the traditional resource allocation problem more complicated. Therefore, how to optimize resource allocation in metro optical networks with considering numerous interference constraints becomes the focus of this paper.Aiming at the problems of crosstalk suppression and network survivability in metro optical network, this paper proposes effective resource allocation algorithms to improve the carrying capacity of metro optical network. The research work and corresponding results of this paper are as follows:a)Aiming at the problems of inter-core crosstalk and spectrum fragmentation, this paper proposes a resource allocation strategy based on auxiliary matrix and super channel.Through the defined auxiliary matrix, the optimal resources are allocated to the demand. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the crosstalk and spectrum fragmentation.b)In order to improve the survivability of metro optical network, this paper proposes a band partition protection scheme based on MB.For small-scale and an ILP model is constructed and a heuristic algorithm based on genetic algorithm is proposed for largescale networks. The simulation results show that the ILP model can achieve the highest signal-to-noise ratio and the high resource utilization within the constraints, and the heuristic algorithm can improve the network performance while achieving near-optimal spectrum allocation.
