Active phased array has the advantages of fast beam switching speed and high synthetic power,which is often used in military field.However,with the continuous progress of technology,active phased array technology is more and more widely used in civil field.In particular,with the evolution of the fifth-generation mobile communication(5G)technology and the deepening of 6G research,millimeter wave frequency band has become a hotspot of5G/6G research with a large amount of undeveloped spectrum resources.Aiming at 5G/6G millimeter wave application,this paper carries out research on planar integrated active phased array technology.The main work of this paper is as follows:1)A wide beam microstrip antenna is proposed and implemented.In order to improve the beam scanning range of antenna array,a wide beam antenna element is designed and implemented based on the principle of antenna beam broadening.At the same time,in order to improve the capacity of the communication system,reduce the antenna size and system cost,the linear polarization wide beam antenna is optimized to ±45° dual polarization wide beam microstrip antenna.2)A planar active phased array with 32 elements is designed and implemented based on the dual-polarization wide-beam antenna element.In this phased array,8-channel phased array beamforming chip and antenna array are integrated on the same PCB board by PCB multilayer mixing technology.By configuring the registers of the chip,the amplitude and phase of the array are weighted to achieve the goal of antenna array beam shape.The test results show that the phased array antenna can achieve a beam scanning range of ±45°.When the beam pointing is normal,the cross polarization is less than-25 d B.3)Further design and implementation of 64 array board active phased array,and integrated frequency conversion module and frequency source module.The frequency conversion module takes UDC(Up-Down Converter)chip as the core,and the transceiver shares the same channel.The frequency source module is used to provide high quality local oscillator signal to the frequency conversion module.Finally,the 64-array dual-polarization wide angle scan active phased array has polarization diversity,transceiver integration and other functions.The test results show that the phased array has a wider beam scanning range of ±60° and great communication performance in the operating band.
