Pulse compression radar is a kind of radar system with large detection range,high resolution and strong anti-interference ability,which has been widely used in various fields.Its system testing has problems such as long cycle and high budget due to the complexity of real electromagnetic environment.In order to improve the efficiency of radar system testing,radar echo simulator came into being,which can effectively simulate various complex factors in radar working environment,such as ideal target echo,internal and external noise,etc.This article mainly designs and implements a software that can generate radar echo simulation signals through any wave generator,and completes the simulation of ideal and non-ideal factors contained in the echo signals in the real working process of the pulse compression radar system,and generates echo simulation signals that can be used for radar system testing.The main contents of this article are as follows:1.By analyzing the working principle of the pulse compression radar system,the functional requirements of the echo signal simulator are determined,including a variety of standard pulse signal generation,intrapulse modulation,pulse-to-pulse modulation,pulsetime jitter,quadrature modulator distortion,natural clutter,and moreand corresponding indicators are proposed for each function.2.Based on the arbitrary wave generator,a software-hardware combined scheme for the echo signal simulator is designed.The software part consists of a human-computer interaction interface and a background echo signal data generation library,which complete the parameter setting and waveform data generation functions.The hardware part reads the waveform data generated by the software and replays it to complete the generation of the echo simulation signal.3.For the echo signal data generation library in the software part,the idea of clean architecture is used to design the software structure framework,which divides the software structure into four levels: core layer,use case layer,interface layer,and user interaction layer.Using object-oriented and polymorphic ideas,the general structure of use case layer units and core layer units are designed respectively,achieving the effect of reducing coupling and increasing cohesion.By analyzing the theoretical basis and algorithm corresponding to each functional factor in the echo signal simulator,the simulation of the ideal target echo signal of pulse compression radar and the noise of various non-ideal characteristics in the echo signal is realized on the software-defined radio platform.4.Using software simulation testing and system testing methods,a test platform is built.The parameters of the echo simulation signal are tested and verified on the simulation software platform,and the echo simulation signal data is played back on any wave generator,and the generated echo simulation signal is tested and compared.After testing and verification,and compared with reference signal data,the average relative error of simulation signal data is less than 0.5%,indicating that the software can simulate the echo signal of pulse compression radar more accurately.
