Study On The Phenomenon Of Internet Onlookers From The Perspective Of Carnival Theory

Network onlookers are very common in the Internet space,similar to real onlookers,but network onlookers have their own characteristics.In recent years,more and more online onlookers have appeared in the public eye,arousing the curiosity and research of many scholars.With the continuous exploration and research,we find that the phenomenon of Internet onlookers presents a very obvious carnival characteristics.Therefore,this paper takes Bakhtin’s carnival theory as the main research perspective to analyze the phenomenon of Internet onlookers.In the second chapter,the main analysis frame of the paper--the theoretical origins of carnival theory is longitudinally combed,and the theoretical origins and theoretical connotation of carnival theory are elaborated in detail,and the research object of the paper--the concept of the network onlookers is defined.In the third chapter,carnival theory is used in combination with actual cases to analyze the phenomenon of Internet onlookers.In the Internet onlookers,netizens make casual contact with vulgar,witty and humorous language,diversified and fragmented forms of expression,use various media tools to make jokes and jokes,and subvert the mainstream authority and traditional value system in a humble and vulgar manner.Internet onlookers show three carnival characteristics: national,ritualistic and subversive.In the fourth chapter,the causes of network onlookers are analyzed from the perspective of carnival theory: Virtual space provides a "carnival square" for network onlookers,technological change is the driving force,social contradictions are the "fuse" for network onlookers,news reports are spectacular to promote the emergence of network onlookers,opinion leaders play an important guiding role in network onlookers,netizen psychology has an important catalytic role in the phenomenon of network onlookers.The spirit of free and equal dialogue in the Internet onlookers is conducive to the construction of Internet citizenship.The carnival and happy philosophy spirit relieves social pressure and social contradictions.The subversive spirit innovates the way of public opinion supervision,but also produces some negative effects: Excessive populist tendency and Internet populism,the boom of grassroots discourse and postmodernism,moral panic and Internet violence,emotional onlookers and rumor breeding,etc.To cope with these negative effects,some measures to regulate online onlookers are put forward in Chapter six: the government should pay attention to online public opinion and improve the management mechanism;The media should bear in mind their responsibilities and missions and guide public opinion scientifically.Netizens should enhance media literacy and their own cultural literacy.
