Writershub:A Modern Platform For Malawian Writers With Script Analysis

This paper presents a platform to predict movi e age rating certificates using movie scripts.Analyzing movie scripts has the benefit of helping script writers know what level a movie script falls under in terms of age rating.This may make their task easier or save on production costs since it may be done before the actual shooting of the movie.This is a problem that can be avoided and has been solved in this study.In order to solve it,variation of the movie script Ri TUAL dataset is built upon by adding corresponding age certificates and the algorit hm to create it is also presented.In the best prediction model using XGBoost,we achieve an accuracy of 78% and F1-Score of 77%.The platform is not restricted to movie scripts alone but works as a tool for Malawian writers.One challenge Malawian writer s encounter is the unavailability of a platform to share and scrutinize their content in an easy,convenient and reliable way.The unavailability of a platform also poses problems when writing competitions are held.On the other hand,it provides a safe platform for readers to have a quick review of the content they are about to study through the analysis.In this study,the goal is t o overcome these issues by providing a web-based application that uses the Model View Controller(MVC)approach that can handle all of this while adopting some Natural Language Processing techniques.The study deliberately uses modular approach to allow s ome of its solutions like the age prediction component to be easily incorporated in already existing applications such as Wattpad.After these gaps have been filled,a potential business model is presented to generate income.While previous studies focus o n achieving higher prediction scores,this study is u nique as it focuses on how to develop a platform that can use this techn ology for the benefit of society as parents can also easily assess the right content for their children to read.
