Research On Cozy Game Design For Online Social Anxiety

With the rapid development of internet technology and social media,the problem of Online Social Anxiety(OSA)is gradually revealed,which is common among young people represented by college students.Meanwhile,Cozy Game’s calm and soothing theme and utility gave many players emotional comfort and solace during COVID-19.Therefore,exploring the specific impact and role of Cozy Game on college students’ OSA problem means developing an effective intervention for mental health problems.To address the above issues,study introduced Self-discrepancy Theory as a bridge between Cozy Game and OSA.The correlation between the two was then explored,finding that privacy concerns,interaction anxiety,evaluation fears,and selfdiscrepancy issues were alleviated in the safe,abundant,and soft environment of Cozy Games.Cozy game leads the actual self closer to self-guide and decreases the level of OSA effectively,the intervention framework is also constructed based on this,which provides a new approach to solve the problem of OSA.Through qualitative and quantitative experimental methods,a self-assessment scale of OSA based on the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale was designed and used to assess users’ anxiety levels,and it was verified that there was a significant positive correlation between players’ self-discrepancy and OSA.Based on this,a Cozy Game Design Framework is constructed and optimized,and the specific application and design strategies of the framework are discussed to provide a visual reference for designers and scholars.And using the framework,it presents the design practice and user verification process of Cozy Game "Hand".Starting from the intervention of Cozy Game on OSA,this paper introduces selfdiscrepancy theory as a connection between the two.Constructing a relatively complete design framework of Cozy Game for the first time.We hope to help scholars and designers to design and research more easily through a standardized and reasonable design structure.We also hope to call more attention to Cozy Game design and find new ideas and applications for Cozy Game in positive psychology and emotional relief.
