Research On The Cooperation Mechanism Of The Long-Term Preservation Of Personal Born-Digital Resources

Personal born-digital resources refer to a kind of information resources that individuals generate,publish,disseminate,communicate,archive and utilize in digital form with the help of computers,mobile phones,digital cameras,PDA and other digital devices and networks for a certain purpose in their daily life,study and work.Personal born-digital resources have the characteristics of easy attenuation,easy disappearance and poor stability.It is likely to be difficult to guarantee its authenticity,integrity and availability due to some reasons such as technical replacement,format conversion and carrier damage,so it is necessary and important to preserve personal born-digital resources for a long time.In practice,limited time and energy,lack of equipment,lack of awareness of preservation,improper preservation methods and skills are also easy to cause the loss of resources.It is difficult to achieve the goal of long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources.Therefore,it is difficult to realize and achieve the long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources only through individual’s unilateral efforts.In this context,cooperation is particularly necessary and important in the long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources.According to the survey data,there are projects and practices of long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources in cooperation at home and abroad,and multi-party cooperation has gradually become a trend.Through literature search,it is found that these cooperative projects and practices have achieved corresponding results and effects.However,from the perspective of the current domestic and foreign cooperation practices,there are still problems and deficiencies in the long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources in cooperation,which need to be further improved and optimized.Research results on the long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources cooperation mechanism have not been reported.In view of this,this study takes the long-term preservation cooperation mechanism of personal born-digital resources as the research object,discusses the cooperation mechanism of long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources,makes an in-depth analysis of the current situation,and puts forward corresponding optimization strategies for the existing problems on the basis of empirical research.The research work mainly includes the following four aspects:(1)This study defines the concepts related to the long-term preservation cooperation mechanism of personal born-digital resources.On the basis of previous studies,this study analyzes the structure of the cooperation mechanism system for the long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources,proposes that the cooperation mechanism for the long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources includes two sub-mechanisms,namely the implementation mechanism and the guarantee mechanism,and makes an in-depth analysis of the internal relationship between the implementation mechanism and the guarantee mechanism.It is proposed that the main bodies of the long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources cooperation mainly include individuals,public cultural service institutions,internet service providers,and educational institutions such as colleges and universities.This study analyzes the necessity of long-term preservation cooperation of personal born-digital resources.The feasibility of cooperation is analyzed from the perspectives of “competence feasibility” and “technology feasibility”and put forward the principles to be followed and the goals of cooperation.(2)Based on the specific practice and the nature of cooperative leaders,this study divides the current types of cooperation mechanisms for long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources into four types:the public cultural service institutions led type,the internet service provider led type,the university and other educational institutions led type and the individual led type.Further subdivision is conducted to explore the characteristics of each type of cooperation mechanism and analyze the role and significance of different types of cooperation mechanisms.(3)This study selects two typical cases at home and abroad to analysis the implementation mechanism and guarantee mechanism,delving into the mechanisms of collaboration.This study investigates the domestic typical case through interviews,and analysis the foreign typical case through the network retrieval.Comparison analysis was carried out on the cases at home and abroad to reflect the similarities and differences.(4)This study summarizes the problems of long-term preservation and cooperation mechanism of personal born-digital resources.The main reason for the problem is that the implementation mechanism and the guarantee mechanism have not been perfected,such as insufficient coverage of resources,insufficient exploitation and utilization of resources,lack of legal support,lack of national guidance.Then this study puts forward optimization strategies.In conclusion,through literature research,case analysis,interview and other methods,this study explores the cooperation mechanism of long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources and puts forward optimization strategies,so as to provide reference for future practices related to long-term preservation of personal born-digital resources.
