With the popularity of the Internet,it has become more common for people to use the Internet to search for information in their daily lives. At the same time, scholars have gradually realized that users’ cognitive activities and affective states play an important role in their information search process. However, how do the emotion and cognition interact in the information search of Internet users? What cognitions lead to the generation and change of affection? Will different types of affective states have an impact on search behavior, which in turn causes the user’s knowledge structure to change during the search process? Clarifying these issues will help to further explain the cognitive and affective interaction mechanism behind the user’s information search behavior, thereby optimizing the intelligence-oriented information retrieval system, and providing corresponding ideas for the reform of user information literacy in the future.Based on this, this study takes college students’ network users as the research object, and explores the interaction mechanism of affection and cognition in the process of daily information search by users through task-based information search experiments.First of all, from the three aspects of cognition research, affection research, affection and cognitive interaction research in Internet user information search, the literature combing and summarizing,it is found that domestic and foreign scholars have a certain degree of affection and cognitive changes in information search.Research results, and many scholars explore the user’s affective experience and cognitive learning in the search process from the perspective of the task. However, existing studies have not yet set up tasks from the two dimensions of cognitive taxonomy to explore user affection and recognition.Know the interaction mechanism in different tasks.Secondly, from the three aspects of sentiment evaluation theory,"Searching as Learning"(SAL)and task-based search, the theoretical research is carried out,and the theoretical framework is proposed.According to the emotional evaluation theory, users’ emotions are generated based on their cognitive evaluation of things.Driven by affection, users will have a positive or negative willingness to act.Under the influence of the willingness to act,the user’s search behavior changes and stimulates new cognition.According to SAL theory, search is regarded as a learning process, which is accompanied by the evolution of user knowledge structure.Task-based search refers to conducting interactive information retrieval experiments based on task driving. After the theoretical framework was proposed, this research carried out experimental design.Based on the cognitive dimension and knowledge dimension, five types of experimental tasks with different cognitive complexity were set up.In the experiment, both the interview method and the questionnaire survey method were used to collect relevant experimental data, and finally 70 valid data were obtained.A total of 72 subjects were recruited in the experiment,of which 70 were effective subjects.Third, the data information is analyzed and sorted through manual recognition.Research shows that there are certain differences in the overall search situation of subjects between different tasks.Tasks with lower cognitive levels tend to spend less time and more time.Less search style changes and search channel changes, etc.,while getting less knowledge growth and learning effect enhancement. In addition, the affective words are recognized and calculated in stages by task and stage, and finally2210 affective words are obtained. In different tasks and different search stages, the word frequency and intensity values of positive affection, negative affection and neutral affection are also different.Fourth, using the main axis coding and open coding based on the grounded theory, conceptualized and categorized the cognitive sources of emotion generation and change in the search process. The results show that the user’s cognition of tasks, domain knowledge, system knowledge and self-efficacy in the search demand generation stage will lead to the generation of corresponding affection.During the search phase, the users’ affection are related to search results, search strategies, domain knowledge, system knowledge, task complexity and self-efficacy.In the resource selection stage, users’ affection are related to the three cognitive dimensions of information resources, information systems, and self-efficacy.The cause of affection is mainly the user’s cognition of information resources, including information content and information acquisition.Fifth, based on the data of interviews and thinking aloud, this research identifies specific search behaviors caused by user affection. The results show that the tasks with lower cognitive complexity, the more positive affection the subjects produce, and they perform searches under the guidance of such affection;under different tasks, the majority of people withdraw from search due to positive affection. In the negative affective state, there are fewer exits from the search;the main search behaviors caused by the affective impact of the user in the search process include changing the search term, changing the search channel, and clicking more pages. In addition, based on the calculation of affective intensity value, this research explored its impact on the cognitive learning effect of users.Through correlation analysis and regression analysis,it can be seen that in task 3,the subjects’ negative affection have a significant negative correlation with the degree of knowledge growth after search;in task 5,the intensity of positive affection generated by users is related to the degree of knowledge they perceive. Both the degree of knowledge growth and the learning effect showed a significant positive correlation. Finally, according to the results of data analysis, suggestions are made in terms of optimizing information systems and improving user information literacy,in order to provide certain reference value for improving user search affective experience and cognitive learning effects, and improving search skills. In terms of the optimization of the information retrieval system, this research suggests that the content of information resources should be further optimized, and the navigation function and interface settings of the retrieval system should be improved to enhance the affective interaction between users and the system;in terms of user information literacy training,it should be based on the user’s search skills Different from the complexity of search tasks, targeted and personalized information literacy training.
