| With the development of modern society, interpersonal relationships become closer and more frequent, transportation becomes more convenient, and information flows more easily.Extensive connectivity and high-speed operation not only bring us opportunities, but also increase the likelihood of disasters.Disasters often have characteristics such as sudden and destructive, involving the interests of the country and individuals, and therefore have high news value, making them a hot topic of media coverage. In disaster news reporting, the media should objectively report facts, accurately reflect social voices, strive to promote public discussion, and reflect and review institutional loopholes to safeguard the interests of the public and society. However, disaster news reporting is not entirely objective.Different media positions and physical attributes of the media can lead to "communication bias" in disaster news reporting. This paper uses the research methods of content analysis, case study and comparative analysis to select three media reports on the March 21 China Eastern Airlines MU5735 aircraft accident(hereinafter referred to as the China Eastern Airlines accident)in the client,Weibo,We Chat public platform and Tiktok as research samples, and analyzes the China Eastern Airlines accident report in combination with the communication bias theory to explore the communication bias of the media and its media platform,Further analyze the adverse effects of extreme communication bias and the balanced path of disaster news reporting.Research shows that there are media position bias and media attribute bias in China Eastern Airlines accident news reporting. In terms of media position bias, the three media have a bias towards "official and government" in terms of reporting sources and protagonists,a focus on "accident itself" in terms of reporting themes, and a focus on "positive reporting" in terms of reporting tendencies. At the same time, the three media have different positions. The "Civil Aviation News of China" is an industry newspaper that tends to take a holistic stance from a macro perspective, and the "Guangxi Daily" belongs to the local party committee organ newspaper,The government, which is biased towards a mesoscopic perspective, takes into account its local position, while "surging news" is a market-oriented media, which is biased towards a humanistic position from a micro perspective; In terms of media attribute bias, due to the similarity of technological development, different media platforms have the same spatial bias, sensory bias and algorithm bias, but different media platforms also have their own unique communication bias. The client side is biased towards aggregated communication,Weibo is biased towards open communication,We Chat public platform is biased towards in-depth communication, and Tiktok is biased towards emotional communication. The extreme development of communication bias will bring about issues such as the decline of media value and the dissipation of human subjectivity. To this end,the media needs to adhere to comprehensive reporting, multiple reporting,follow-up reporting, and constructive reporting in disaster news reporting;Media platforms need to achieve a balance between time and space bias, hot and cold media, and technological development. |
