In modern battlefield,the effect of the optical imaging equipment is easily interfered by the scattering media such as haze,rain,dust,and sand,which will make images hazy,and adversely affecting the detection,recognition and tracking of important targets.How to eliminate the interference of scattering media effectively and obtain clear target image is always one of the research hotspots in the field of computer vision and image processing.In recent years,polarization imaging technology has been proved to have unique advantages in the field of target detection in complex background,so it is of great significance to study the scattering method based on polarization imaging technology.Eliminating the adverse effect disturbance of scattering medium and obtaining clear images have long been a question of great interest in computer vision and image processing.In recent years,polarization imaging technology has been proved to have unique advantages in target detection in complex background,so it is of great significance to study the dehazing method based on polarization imaging technology.Aiming at the problems of poor robustness and weak dehazing effect of traditional polarimetric dehazing method,a polarimetric dehazing method based on the image fusion technique and adaptive adjustment algorithm was proposed in this paper.Firstly,low-pass filtering process was utilized to preprocess the images to reduce the noise.Then,the key parameters of the dehazing physical model were estimated according to the polarimetric dehazing model,and some of these parameters were optimized by image fusion method.Finally,the dehazing images were obtained based on the dehazing physical model,and the brightness distribution of the images was adjusted based on Gamma function,which can improve the visual effect furtherly.In this paper,the polarimetric dehazing method based on image fusion and adaptive adjustment algorithm were analyzed and experimentally studied in detail.The main contents are listed as follows:1.The polarimetric dehazing model was constructed based on the scattering model and polarimetric imaging theory,and the dehazing images could be obtained by estimating the key parameters in the model.The low-pass filtering,image fusion and adaptive adjustment algorithms were applied to optimize the process,which would improve the dehazing effect and image quality.2.The Monte Carlo model of light transmission in scattering medium was constructed,and the probability distribution model of scattering particle radius was added to the Monte Carlo model to make it more suitable to the actual situation.And then,the Monte Carlo model was employed to generate scattering images with different polarimetric characteristics.Simulation experiments were carried out on the proposed scattering removal method,and the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method were preliminarily verified.3.Several hazy images were captured in haze,rain,dust and underwater scattering environment,and they were processed by different dehazing methods.The experimental results were analyzed and compared from the perspectives of subjective visual effect and objective quantitative indexes,and the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed method have been summarized.The polarimetric dehazing method proposed in this paper can solve the shortcomings of traditional methods such as poor robustness and weak de-scattering effect,and provides a new effective solution for the dehazing method based on polarimetric imaging.
