| Football, the world’s number one sport today, has developed in a diversified way.Women’s football,as part of it,has been growing rapidly since the 1990 s.With the continuous development of women’s football, the confrontation and the transition of offense and defense in the game are gradually enhanced. The Women’s World Cup,as the highest tournament of its kind, its technical and tactical system represents the latest trend and direction of the development of women’s football worldwide. As the technical and tactical system of women’s football evolves,it becomes more diverse, which leads to a variety of changes in the transitions of offense and defense of players in different positions on the field, leading to a variety of characteristics of goals. As goal is the critical factor in winning a game,it is important to analyse and summarize the characteristics of goals. This thesis analyzes a series of features of goals scored by China and the top eight teams in the fifth, seventh and eighth Women’s World Cups(China did not qualify for the sixth Women’s World Cup). The data required for the study is observed, counted and analyzed through video observation, mathematical statistics and logical analysis. The conclusion is as follows:(1)In terms of the time of goals, the number of goals scored by the top eight teams in the second half was significantly higher than in the first half. The number of goals scored in the three periods of 0-15 min,46-60 min and 76-90+min was much higher than other periods, which is the peak period for goals, among which the number of goals scored in the period of 46-60 min is the most. The time pattern of goals scored by China and the top eight teams in the three Women’s World Cups was basically the same.(2)In terms of the areas of goals, the top eight teams scored far more goals in Zone 1,2 and3 than in other zones, with Zone 2 being the area with the most goals scored by China and the top eight teams, followed by Zone 1 and 3,with few or no goals scored in the other three zones. In all three Women’s World Cups, the main goal scoring area for China and the top eight teams was directly in front of the goal area.(3)In terms of the way goals were scored, the top eight teams scored the most goals with direct shots, followed by adjusted shots and header shots, and finally breakaway shots and penalty.China’s goals were also dominated by direct shots,in line with the top eight teams.(4)In terms of the attacking tactics used in the goals, side attack and place kick attack were the main attacking ways, and the middle attack was also one of the more used attacking ways. The goal number and success rate of counterattacking fast break goal were not as good as the first three attacking ways.(5)In terms of the position of the goalscorers, the forwards scored the most goals, followed by the midfielders, with the defenders scoring the fewest goals, far less than the forwards and midfielders.(6)In terms of the number of passes before the goal, the goals scored by 0-5 passes accounted for the majority of the total goals scored by the top eight teams, significantly higher than those scored from more than 5 passes.SPSS STATISTICS 25.0 software was used to analyze the data. The output results showed that there was a significant negative correlation between the number of passes before scoring and the number of goals scored by the top eight teams, which was consistent with the “direct play” theory proposed by Professor Charlie Hughes.Overall, the number of passes before the goal of China in the three Women’s World Cups was mainly in the range of 0-4 times, which was basically consistent with the top eight teams and conformed to the “direct play” theory. |
