Social media plays an important role in the life of young people nowadays. It is not only the main channel of communication, but also an important field for young people to express themselves. In addition to the need for constant communication between partners in romantic relationships, public displays of relationship status are becoming more common in the establishment and maintenance of romantic relationships.Enabled by technology, young people are increasingly daring to show their love,a phenomenon that is not only the result of technological progress, but also the inevitable result of open-minded thinking. However, technological advances not only create space for expression, but also create privacy risks. In a romantic relationship, how to balance the relationship between disclosure and privacy becomes the focus of this study.Using quantitative, research methods, this study collected more than 400 questionnaires online and used data analysis tools to explore the relationships among self-disclosure,perceived value, perceived risk, privacy management, relationship commitment, and parental concerns. The results show that perceived risk has a positive and significant impact on privacy management, while perceived value has no negative impact on privacy management.Meanwhile, perceived risk has a negative impact on self-disclosure.These results indicate that the privacy paradox of romantic relationship disclosure in social media has been resolved.Couples conduct careful risk assessment and privacy management when making online self-disclosure about romantic relationships, and social media platforms also provide privacy protection functions to a certain extent.
