Due to its various geometrical structures and unique optical properties, the microstructured optical fiber has a particularly important research significance and broad application prospect in the field of optical fiber sensing. The emergence and rapid development of microstructured optical fibers have a particularly important significance and certain status in the fields of fiber optics and photonics.Sensors combining long-range surface plasmon resonance and microstructured optical fibers have quickly beco me a very hot topic in the sensing field.Different from the traditional surface plasmon resonance sensor, the advantages of the MOF LRSPR sensor are high sensitivity, flexible structure design, small detection sample demand and broad application fields, etc. The main contents of this paper include:(1)It mainly introduces the concept and characteristics of micro-structured optical fiber and elaborates the research progress of surface plasmon resonance sensing technology, optical fiber surface plasmon resonance sensing technology and materials that produce surface plasmons in detail.(2)The principle of evanescent wave, the principle of SPR sensing and numerical analysis method, especially the FEM,are introduced in detail. Finally, the loss spectrum and performance parameters of the MOF LRSPR sensor are described.(3)Design based on gold as a sensing layer image of honeycomb ed D-shaped MOF LRSPR sensor, through the design and optimization of various parameters to detect range,FOM,the transmission depth, wavelength sensitivity and resolution as an indicator to study the sensing performance of the MOF LRSPR sensor,COMSOL finite element method(FEM)was used to optimize, and coating gold layer sensor model is established and study its response to the sensitivity of the external environment.(4)A highly sensitive MOF LRSPR refractive index sensor based on gold and graphene was designed.Through the optimization of various parameters, the influence of the thickness of the graphene sensing layer s and the gold layers on the sensitivity of the sensor was studied by using the COMSOL finite element method.Appropriate coating of graphene can enhance the sensing performance of the MOF LRSPR sensor. This paper provides a theoretical basis for the study of the composite structure of graphene and gold as the sensing layer for the development of high-sensitivity LRSPR sensors.
