| With the improvement of women’s social status and economic strength,women play an increasingly important role in variety shows.The mass media pays more and more attention to female audiences,and even launched a series of "She Variety Shows",which take women as the main target audience.A variety show that reflects women’s values,presents a diverse image of women,and is tailored for women.The media image of women has always attracted the attention of scholars.As a media product,the shaping of the image of women in variety shows not only affects women’s self-cognition,but also reflects the society’s cognition of gender concepts and the real social status of women.Further influence society’s perception of women.Therefore,it has certain practical significance to analyze the female images in variety shows.This paper adopts content analysis and text analysis methods to analyze the presentation of female images and the discourse framework of the twenty-six episodes of the popular female variety show "Sister Riding the Wind and Waves" in two seasons.First,the female images presented in the program are summarized from three aspects.The first is the external image of the guests such as age,height,weight,and shape;the second is the internal image of the guests’ character and temperament;the third is the dormitory,Stage,practice room and other program environment design.Then,using the three-layer frame theory of scholar Zang Guoren,through text analysis of the program production texts such as theme songs,narration subtitles,insert advertisements,and guest interviews,the discourse in the program is analyzed from three levels: high-level framework,middle-level framework and low-level framework.frame for analysis.After research,it is found that although "Sister Riding the Wind and Waves" advertises to show a diverse image of women,establishes women’s values ??to strive for,encourages women to pursue their dreams,and realize their self-worth,but in fact,it is more of a commercial cultural phenomenon,a combination of capital and programs.In order to obtain more economic benefits,the producers have conspired to create a collective carnival for the female group,and women have become the objects of consumption whether they are the participating guests or the audience of the program.Even though women themselves show a certain sense of autonomy in the program and hope to present a more diverse female image,from the perspective of the program’s rules,standards and the leading force behind it,the presentation of female images in the program is still subject to traditional gender concepts.limits.Women are still objectified objects in the show and are inevitably under the gaze of men;the decision-makers and leaders in the show are mostly men;the disciplinary power of patriarchy can be seen everywhere;not only has it failed to break the stereotype of women Impression,but invisibly solidified some negative stereotypes of women in the program.To sum up,the factors affecting the image of women in the media are very complex.A variety show with innovative models and ideas cannot break the stereotype of women,nor is it enough to change the traditional gender concept in society. |
